F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products and a handmade pom pom.
Project Recipe
Cut card stock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Bermuda Bay Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Card Stock
- 3" square of Whisper White Card Stock
Place the Daffodil Delight rectangle into the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the embossed Daffodil Delight layer to the front of the Bermuda Bay card.
Mount the crazy haired chicken image from the Hey, Chick Stamp Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it ever so slightly to the right of center on the Whisper White square.
Pick out the Stitched Shapes Framelit that cuts out a circle that is 2-7/16" in diameter. Place the white square with the stamped chicken on the Cutting Pad on top of your Big Shot Platform on your Big Shot. Place the circle Stitched Shapes Framelit on top so the chicken is ever so slightly to the right of center in the circle. Place the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the "party on!" sentiment from the Balloon Adventures Photopolymer Set on Block C. Slightly curve the sentiment as you mount it on the block. Since this is a photopolymer set you can do this! Ink up the stamp with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad and stamp it to the left of the chicken on the circle.
Use the Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencils to color in the chicken. Use a Blender Pen to blend the colors. Remember to scribble on scratch paper between colors to remove color from the Blender Pen. I used Pacific Point on the chicken's body and Daffodil Delight on the beak and feet. I then used a mix of Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay on the tail and head feathers.
Adhere the colored chicken circle to the lower right side of the card front.
Use a Mini Glue Dot or two to adhere the party hat Party Animal Embellishment to the top of the chicken's head at a slight angle.
Wrap Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine around the center of the tines of a plastic fork about 20 times. Keep the wraps tight. Cut the twine. Cut another piece of twine about 4 inches long. Feed it between the tines in the center of the fork below the wrapped twine and back up again above the wrapped twine. Tie a knot as tight as you can. Slide the twine off the tines of the fork. Slide the blade of your Paper Snips between the loops on one side and cut. Do the same thing on the other side loops. Fluff the loops to make a pom pom. Trim the excess twine off as needed. Adhere the pom pom to the top of the party hat using a Mini Glue Dot.
