Project Recipe
Cut card stock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Watermelon Wonder Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Peekaboo Peach Card Stock
- 2" x 4" from Watermelon Wonder basket weave design of paper from Carried Away Designer Series Paper, try to orient the paper so the basket weave design will run horizontally across the strip
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Card Stock
- scrap of Peekaboo Peach Card Stock at least 1" x 2"
Lightly spritz the large Peekaboo Peach rectangle of card stock with water. An old Stampin' Mist bottle filled with water works great. Insert the slightly damp card stock into the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on top of your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. There should not be a Cutting Pad below the folder because it is so thick! Place one Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the embossed Peekaboo Peach rectangle to the card front.
Open the Banner Triple Punch and slide one short edge of the Carried Away Designer Series Paper into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat on the other short edge. Adhere the punched designer paper piece to the card front so it is about 1" from the top of the card.
Cut a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon about 4" long. Notch the ends with scissors so the piece is now about 3-1/4" long. An easy way to notch the end of the ribbon is to pinch the ribbon in half horizontally on one end. Holding the pinched end so that the open edges are facing up, cut at a sharp angle towards the fold. Unpinch the ribbon and you should have a perfect notch.
Place a small strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the center of the designer paper. Remove the protective backing and adhere the notched burlap ribbon to the adhesive so it is centered horizontally across the designer paper.
Mount the frazzled chicken image from the Hey, Chick Stamp Set on Block D if you are using the Clear-Mount version of the set. Ink it up using the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White rectangle. Use the Peekaboo Peach Marker and Watermelon Wonder Marker to color in the chicken.
Choose the Stitched Shapes oval framelit that just fits around the chicken. Place the stamped and colored chicken on the Cutting Pad on top of your Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the oval Stitched Shapes Framelit on top so the chicken is centered in the oval. Place the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the chicken oval to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals so it is centered on the ribbon and designer paper pieces.
Mount the "hey, chick" sentiment from the Hey, Chick Stamp Set on Block G if you are using the Clear-Mount Set. Ink it up with Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of your Peekaboo Peach scrap of card stock.
Place the stamped sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of your Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the small Bunch of Banners Framelit on top so the sentiment is centered on the banner. Place the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment to the chicken oval so it hangs off the left side just below the ribbon.
Remove a Mini Glue Dot from the roll with your fingers and smash it into the smallest ball you can. Place the glue dot ball on one rounded end of the banner. Pick out a Watermelon Wonder sequin from the Sprinkles Embellishments and adhere it to the glue dot ball. Repeat on the other side of the banner.
