P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and glimmer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Terracotta Tile Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Bumblebee Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of multicolored sprinkles on white background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Bumblebee Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Rainbow Glimmer Paper, cut so you get mostly yellow fading into orange
Adhere the Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper rectangle to the large Bumblebee rectangle and then to the front of the Terracotta Tile card.
Mount the "Let's Celebrate You" sentiment from the Hey Birthday Chick Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle just above center.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a 1-7/8" x 3-1/8" rectangle. Place the die on top of the sentiment stamped white rectangle on the platform of your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment side to side with the sentiment closer to the top. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment rectangle cut out to the front of the card so the right edge is about 3/4" from the right edge of the card and the top edge is about 1-1/4" from the top of the card.
Pick out the fence die from the Birthday Chick Dies. Place the die on top of the Crumb Cake rectangle on the platform of your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the fence cut out to the front of the card along the bottom edge of the sentiment rectangle cut out so the open end of the fence sticks out on the right side just a bit.
Mount the hen floating from a balloon image from the Hey Birthday Chick Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the small rectangle of Bumblebee Cardstock so you get the hen and the bottom of the balloon string.
Re-ink the hen floating from a balloon image on Block I with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the small square of Rainbow Glimmer Paper so you get the balloon.
Pick out the matching, hen floating from a balloon die from the Birthday Chick Dies. Place the die on top of the hen stamped on the Bumblebee rectangle on the platform of your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the hen image. Run through the machine.
Place the matching, hen floating from a balloon die on top of the balloon stamped on the glimmer paper square on the platform of your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the balloon image. Run through the machine.
Use the Terracotta Tile Marker to color in the hen's wings, comb, and tail feathers and to add some small squiggles of orange to the rest of the hen's feathers on the hen cut out.
Use the Bumblebee Marker to color in the hen's head and feet and to add some small squiggles of yellow to the rest of the hen's feathers on the hen cut out.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the string going up from the top of the hen's tail on the hen cut out.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the string going down from the bottom of the balloon on the balloon cut out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the colored hen cut out and the balloon cut out on the card front to figure out spacing. Draw a thin line of Bermuda Bay between the top of the hen cut out and the bottom of the balloon as the string using the fine tip of the Bermuda Bay Marker.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the hen cut out and balloon cut out in place on the front of the card.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of the Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the bottom of the balloon cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 Calypso Coral and 1 Mango Melody sequin of different sizes from a sheet of Artistry Blooms Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the sentiment rectangle cut out around the sentiment.
