P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 3" x 3-7/8" of lines of different colored stitchery on white background from Sweet Stockings 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Sweet Stockings Designer Paper to the bottom of the Pool Party rectangle so a small amount of blue shows on the left, right, and bottom edges.
Mount the chicken with cupcake image from the Hey Birthday Chick Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal white rectangle about 1/2" from the bottom.
Slide one upper corner of stamped white rectangle into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch. Repeat on the other top corner of the rectangle.
Put the corner rounded chicken with cupcake rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the chicken's head and tail feathers and the bottom of the cupcake.
Use the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to add some highlights of red to the chicken's.wing and body and to color in the chicken's beak and the candle on the cupcake.
Use the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the candle on the cupcake and the crumbs from the cupcake.
Use the Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the chicken's face, body, and feet and the icing on the cupcake.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the flame of the candle.
Use the Dark and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the ground below the chicken's feet and the cupcake. Leave a little white space below and to the sides of the ground.
Use the Dark and Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends to color in the sky around the chicken and cupcake. Leave a little white space below and to the sides of the sky.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove unwanted and excess color and to blend the edges of the sky and ground a bit.
Adhere the stamped, colored and punched chicken rectangle to the top of the Pool Party/designer paper rectangle so it overlaps the top of the designer paper by about 3/8" and is centered side to side.
Mount the "let's celebrate you" sentiment from the Hey Birthday Chick Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal Crushed Curry strip in the center. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the Label Me Fancy Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked. Keep all the pieces.
Slide the leftover end of the Crushed Curry strip into the unlocked punch so you will punch out the slit. Now, slide the leftover end of the Crushed Curry strip with the slit punched in it into the unlocked punch so you will punch out a rounded end. Get the slit centered in the rounded end fairly close to the edge. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Lay the punched out bit on the BACK of the sentiment punch out lining up the rounded edges on one side. Use a pen or pencil to draw inside the slit area. Repeat with the other rounded edge.
Slide the marked sentiment punch out into the unlocked punch and get the marked area centered inside the slit punch. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Metallic Ribbon.
Thread the sentiment label punch out onto the ribbon and get it positioned on the ribbon in the center. Put some Stampin' Dimensionals on the BACK of the sentiment label punch out.
Remove the protective backings from the Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere the sentiment label punch out to the designer paper/cardstock rectangle so it is centered just below the chicken's feet and over the bottom edge of the white rectangle. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Pool Party rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Metallic Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side of the sentiment label punch out. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
