S weet card I used as a Father's Day card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Real Red Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Happy Little Things Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the solid block letter "you" sentiment from the Happy Little Things Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom right corner of the vertical 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" white rectangle.
Mount the solid block letter "celebrate" sentiment from the Happy Little Things Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so it is centered side to side and is just above the previously stamped "you."
Adhere the stamped white layer to the center of the Basic Black rectangle and then to the front of the Real Red card.
Mount the hugging badgers image from the Hearts & Hugs Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the matching hugging badgers die from the Hearts & Hugs Dies. Put it on top of the stamped badgers image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them in. That way if the die slips as you are cutting you haven't wasted time and ink on the image.
Place the badgers cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the outer stripes on the larger badger's head and the noses and tails of both badgers.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the outer stripes of the smaller badger's head and to add outlines and streaks to both badgers' bodies.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to blend everything together and finish coloring in the bodies.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored badgers cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is just above the word "celebrate" on the left side.
Pick out both of the sets of two small hearts dies from the Hearts & Hugs Dies. Put them on top of the Real Red square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Repeat one more time with one of the sets of hearts dies so you have 6 little heart cut outs.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere 5 of the little hearts to the front of the card as shown.
