T his card was made with a combination of the Heartfelt stamp set, Ornate Borders dies and Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Project Recipe
Cut a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4"
Cut a piece of Love You Always foil DSP 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
Measure in 1" from the top left corner and bottom right corner and make a tick mark.
Place the paper in your paper trimmer with one of the tick marks at the cut line on the trimmer and angle the other side so the other tick mark is also on the cutting well. Then run the cutting blade from one end to the other so you have an angle cut.
Select a die from the Ornate Borders dies and place along the long angles edge of the DSP and run it through your Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine.
The die might cause the paper to not be completely connected and may seem like it's tearing away, but that's ok. Glue the whole thing down onto the card base on the left and it will all stay in place.
When I applied liquid glue to the die cut part, I put some liquid glue onto Stampin' Up's silicone sheet and dabbed it with a Stampin' sponge. Then I lightly dabbed the glue onto the die cut area so the glue wouldn't be slopped all over the place and end up all over the card.
Glue some Blushing Bride metallic ribbon along the angle just below the die cut and trim both ends. Take another small length of ribbon and make a bow. Apply Stampin' Seal + to the area where you want to apply your bow and press it in place. Liquid glue doesn't work. It's not strong enough. The Stampin' Seal + works great.
Select the large scalloped heart and the image that says "Happy Valentine's Day from the Heartfelt stamp set and stamp the images on a scrap of basic white cardstock using Melon Mambo ink.
Punch out both images using the two punches in the Heart Punch pack.
Glue the smaller Happy Valentine's Day heart to the larger one. Then apply dimensionals and apply it to the top right of the card.
I did not use any gem dots because I thought the card already had a lot going on, but you could certainly add them if you wanted a little more glam.
Thank you for checking out my card. I hope you feel inspired to make it or use it as an inspiration for your own design. Happy stamping.
