Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Melon Mambo Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Real Red 12" x 12" Two-Tone Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" of pink, red, and gold swirls and splatters design from Marbled Elegance 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" of mottled dark pink on light pink design from Marbled Elegance 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
With the darker side of the Real Red Two-Tone Cardstock strip face up, use your fingers to tear along one long edge so you tear off about 1/4" of cardstock. Tear towards you to get the white edge showing.
With the swirls and splatters side of the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Paper face up, use your fingers to tear along one long edge so you tear off about 1/4" of designer paper. Tear towards you to get the white edge showing.
Adhere the torn red cardstock strip behind the torn edge of the designer paper rectangle so a bit of the red shows.
Adhere the layered, torn designer paper/cardstock to the front of the Melon Mambo card so the top and bottom edges are all even and the left edge of the designer paper is about 3/4" from the left edge of the card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Heartfelt Hexagon Set, place the designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit over the mottled Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Paper strip.
Mount the hatched edge tag outline from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the designer paper strip leaving room to punch it out.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the entire tag outline. Tap off excess powder.
Mount the "for you" sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the powder covered outline tag image so it is horizontal.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the entire sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the heat embossed tag image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Put lines of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back side of the sentiment label punch out.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape on the back of the sentiment label punch out. Add loops of Real Red & White Baker's Twine to the back of the punch out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out with twine loops attached to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the left side of the designer paper a bit and is about 1" from the top.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 different size Melon Mambo sequins from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front.
