F un Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products. If you don't like Halloween, you can just make it a fall card by not stamping the jack o' lantern face.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Nine Lives Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top to protect the mat from ink.
Mount the small outline mouse image from the Nine Lives Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the large Mango Melody rectangle.
Mount the solid mouse body image from the Nine Lives Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. Then, WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the outlined body of the mouse.
Insert the long Pumpkin Pie rectangle into the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Pumpkin Pie rectangle to the stamped Mango Melody rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the top. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess cardstock on the sides as needed.
Adhere the Mango Melody rectangle with the dry embossed Pumpkin Pie layer attached to the front of the Pumpkin Pie card.
Mount the cat with a face image from the Nine Lives Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the smaller strip of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.
Unlock the Cat Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped cat image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Mount the striped or mottled cat image from the Nine Lives Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped cat image on the cat punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the patterned (striped or mottled) cat image inside the cat with face image if I stamp the cat with face image first and then punch it out before stamping on the pattern.
Mount the pumpkin image from the Harvest Hellos Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it on end of the smaller strip of Mango Melody Cardstock.
If you want a Halloween card, mount the jack o' lantern face image from the Harvest Hellos Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped pumpkin image.
If you don't want a Halloween card, simply skip this step.
Unlock the Apple Builder Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped pumpkin image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the stem image from the Harvest Hellos Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock so the fatter end of the stem is on the left side.
Hold the unlocked Apple Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped stem image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Adhere the stem to the back of the pumpkin punch out so the stem is poking out from the top center of the pumpkin a tiny bit.
Adhere the pumpkin with stem attached punch out to the front of the card so it is about 1-1/4" from the left side and is about 1/2" from the bottom of the dry embossed Pumpkin Pie strip.
Adhere the cat punch out to the front of the card so the cat overlaps the left side of the pumpkin a bit and the bottom of the cat is even with the bottom of the pumpkin.
Mount the "You Make Me Smile!" or "Hey There, Pumpkin!" sentiment from the Harvest Hellos Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla strip.
Pick out the short, skinny die with decorative ends from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it is centered under the cat and pumpkin images and covers their bottom edges.
