Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, glimmer paper, and Grid Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Night of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Tranquil Tide Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/8" x 2-3/8" from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Tranquil Tide Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 7-1/4" square from Grid Paper
Tip: When cutting Glimmer Paper, try putting the Glimmer Paper on your Trimmer glitter side down. It is easier to cut the back side of the Glimmer Paper and will not dull your cutting blade as quickly.
Place the large Tranquil Tide rectangle into the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder so the lines runs horizontally across the rectangle. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Make sure the embossing folder does NOT hang out over the edges of the platform or it will catch the edges of the Big Shot as you crank it through which could damage your folder and Big Shot. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Open the embossing folder and turn the cardstock 90 degrees so that the lines are now running vertically across the cardstock. Close the folder and place it on the Big Shot as before and crank it through. You should have a grid pattern dry embossed on your cardstock now.
Carefully remove the magnets from the back of the Stamparatus and place them far apart on your work surface. Be careful NOT to get the magnets too close together or they will snap together which could pinch your fingers or cause the magnets to break. They are also very hard to pry apart if they stick to each other. Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Place the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus since you will be using a photopolymer stamp, make sure it is pushed into the upper right corner as far as possible. Place the 7-1/4" square of Grid Paper on top of the foam mat so you have some grid lines to refer to. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side.
Pick out the "celebrate" sentiment from the Happy Celebrations Set. Place it upside down on the Stamparatus base as far into the upper right corner as it will go on both the upper and right edges. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Place the 3-3/4" x 4" piece of white cardstock on the Stamparatus base so it is as far as possible into the upper right corner with a 3-3/4" side running horizontally across the top. Secure in place with the magnets being careful NOT to get them too close together and leaving room at the top for you to stamp.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Tranquil Tide Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. If you are not happy with the coverage you got, you can close the plate again and press firmly again or re-ink the stamp and try again.
Once you are happy with your first stamped image, remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Readjust the position of the magnets if needed, but be careful NOT to let them touch. Re-ink the stamp on the plate with the Tranquil Tide Ink Pad and stamp. Repeat this procedure until you have stamped the word "celebrate" in Tranquil Tide all down the piece of white cardstock by stepping the plate down one hinge each time and readjusting the magnets as needed.
Clean the stamp using a baby wipe. Dry the stamp thoroughly by waving the plate around, running your hand across it to make sure it is dry, or waiting patiently!
Move the stamped white cardstock down on the Stamparatus base by 1/2" (two squares on the Grid Paper). Secure in place with the magnets being careful NOT to get them too close together and leaving room at the top for you to stamp.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Close the plate and press firmly. It should slightly overlap the first green "celebrate" along the bottom and go off the top edge. Repeat until you've stamped the word "celebrate" all down the cardstock in Night of Navy remembering to re-ink the stamp each time, move the plate down one hinge step each time, and move the magnets as needed without letting them touch. Each navy word should be between two green words, overlapping slightly, until you get to the bottom where the last navy word will go off the bottom edge a bit.
If desired, use the Stampin' Trimmer to trim the sides (4" long) of the stamped piece so that the very edges of the words are touching the edges of the white piece which will only be about 3-1/2" wide after you trim it down.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the dry embossed Tranquil Tide rectangle on the left side so about 3/8" of the Tranquil Tide layer shows on the left. If necessary, trim off any excess cardstock on the top and bottom edges using Paper Snips.
Cut a 6-1/2" piece of Night of Navy 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the Tranquil Tide and white stamped layers so it is about 1" up from the bottom. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the Tranquil Tide cardstock. Adhere the layers to the front of the Night of Navy card.
Pick out the "YOU" thinlit from the Celebrate You Thinlits. Place the small Tranquil Tide rectangle on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the "YOU" thinlit on top so it is centered. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces. Save the rectangle with the word cut out for use on this card. If desired, save the "YOU" cut out for use on another card.

If desired, save the rectangle with the word cut out for use on another card.
Place the green rectangle with the word cut out of it upside down on your work surface. Place the blue "YOU" cut out inside it upside down like a puzzle piece. Place strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the pieces to help hold them together. Make sure NOT to get any adhesive in the open center of the "O" in the word "YOU."
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape pieces and flip the cut outs over and adhere them to the center of the rectangle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the glimmer paper matted word cut outs to the front of the card so they are centered over the ribbon and about 1/2" in from the right side of the Tranquil Tide layer.
Cut a 4" piece of Night of Navy 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side of the matted word cut outs. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
