Print Recipe

Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Basic Black or Copper Clay Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- scrap of Basic Black Cardstock especially if you used Copper Clay Cardstock earlier

Working on Grid Paper to protect your work surface, use the fine tip of the Pecan Pie Stampin' Write Marker to draw thin, jagged lines on the two short sides of the inside box base to look line pages of a book.

Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Pecan Pie Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub off some of the excess ink on Grid Paper. Very lightly rub the inky brush over the short, lined sides of the inside box base to give them an aged paper look. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.

If desired, rub the Pecan Pie inked Blending Brush all over what will be the inside edges and bottom of the inside box base.

Fold together the inside box base.

Pick out the line of icicles die from the Frozen Edges Dies. Put it on top of the long, skinny Very Vanilla strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the flat side of the die is close to the top, long edge. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Keep both pieces.

Use a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue across the top of the horizontal Cherry Cobbler strip to adhere one of the icicle cut outs to it so the "teeth" hang down. Use a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue across the bottom of the horizontal Cherry Cobbler strip to adhere the other icicle cut out to it so the "teeth" point up.

Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess Very Vanilla cardstock on all 4 edges of the Cherry Cobbler strip.

Adhere the Cherry Cobbler strip with "teeth" attached to one long outside edge of the inside box base.

Working on Grid Paper to protect your work surface, rub the Pecan Pie inked Small Blending Brush all over the outside of the book cover, the inside top flap, and the edges of the bottom flap around the book latch. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.

If desired, rub the Pecan Pie inked Small Blending Brush on the open Copper Clay Ink Pad. Add spots of darker brown to the book cover here and there blending them in. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.

Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky brush over both sides of the book latch. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.

Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a notch in the rounded end of the book latch making it look like a forked tongue.

Fold the book cover on all score lines.

Peel up the protective backings on the inside base of the book cover. Adhere the folded together interior box base inside the book cover so the back of the box is close to the bottom fold of the spine. Make sure the two short lined and blended edges of the interior box base are on the sides you can see the hand-drawn page lines and that the long edge with the "teeth" is showing on the front edge.

Pick out the very skinny, straight-edged, roof die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of one side of the Basic Black or Copper Clay rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll cut out a sharp angle. Run through the machine. Repeat creating another sharp angle.

Pick out the straight line with decorative curls stand die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the other side of the Basic Black or Copper Clay rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll cut out most of the stand including the decorative curls. Run through the machine.

Pick out the small, circle with a bar and tiny circle in the center die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the remaining scraps of Basic Black on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll cut out the tiny circle in the center. Run through the machine. Repeat so you have two tiny black circles. Leave the die out.

Put the small, circle with a bar and tiny circle in the center die on top of the remaining Very Vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat so you have two small vanilla circles with open centers.

Use the fine tip of the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker to draw radiating lines out from the center circle to the edges of the vanilla circles making them look like blood shot eyes.

Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the sharp angles down a bit forming long, slanted, angry eyebrows.

Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the stand down so a small bit of stand hangs down between the hanging down curly sides and is curved and a small bit sticks up above the curly sides and is straight at the top.

WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the eyebrows, eyeballs, and nose with curly mustache to the top of the book cover as shown to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the arrangement, adhere the pieces in place one at a time using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere the tiny black circles to the insides of the eyeballs.

Fill the box with treats.

Remove the protective backing from the back of the forked tongue latch and adhere the box closed.
