Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer and Paper Snips Scissors:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of birch bark design from Nests Of Winter 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 3" square from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 2-7/8" square from Basic White Cardstock
- single bird with berry branch in house mouth roughly cut out using Paper Snips Scissors from the sheet of large bird images design from Nests Of Winter 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 4-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
Insert the birch wood Nests Of Winter Designer Paper rectangle into the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder so all the lines are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the designer paper inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Cut an 18" piece of the Garden Green thread from the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Fold the thread into thirds. Lay the folded thread horizontally across the bottom of the dry embossed designer paper rectangle about 1" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the folded thread over and secure the folded thread in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Greetings Of The Season Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the block words "happy" and "holidays" from the Greetings Of The Season Set on Block H. Remember that images are backwards while mounting them! Ink up the stamps with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp them on the white square so they are close to the top and are centered side to side.
Tip: Stamp on some Grid Paper first to make sure you have the words mounted in the proper order and straight.
Adhere the stamped white square to the center of the Cherry Cobbler square.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment square to the front of the card as shown so it is centered top to bottom and overlaps the thread and is closer to the right side.
If you haven't already done so, use Paper Snips Scissors to roughly cut out a single bird with a berries branch in his beak from the sheet of Nests Of Winter 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.
Pick out the matching, single bird with berries branch in beak die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of the roughly cut out bird image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Adhere the bird cut out to the front of the card so it is centered in the square below the sentiment.
Pick out both solid, single pine bough dies from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put them on top of the Garden Green strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the pine bough cut outs to the front of the card so they stick out from behind the square and the stems are tucked under the thread as shown.
Cut a 9" piece of the Garden Green thread from the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Slide one end of the thread under the thread already on the card front just to the left of the matted bird square. Tie in place with a small bow. Trim the ends.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color three of the small Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls while they are on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the berries on the branch in the bird's mouth as shown.
