S tampin' Write Blending Technique
Project Recipe
Stamp the large Magnolia with Staz On Black Ink on Watercolor Paper.
Color in the middle of the flower with Stampin' Write Daffodil Delight.
Start from the middle and work to the outer edge. Color in each petal and leaf separately. Finish each petal or leaf before moving on to the next one. I started with Gorgeous Grape filling in the bottom of the petal.
Then add another line of Highland Heather.
Take your Aqua Painter and start blending from the Gorgeous Grape to the top of the petal. Blending depends on the water coming out of the Aqua Painter. Start light and blend with more water as you want the color to blend.
Start with the leaf, closest to the center. Use Old Olive at the bottom.
Then start a line with Pear Pizzazz.
Blend with the Aqua Painter bringing the colors to the end of the leaf.
Put the flower aside to let dry.
Take a piece of Whisper White Cardstock or Watercolor Paper 5 1/4 x 4. Use the Yoseng makeup brush (I found mine on Amazon) to blend in different colors.
I started with Bermuda Bay. Start off the page and start brushing it back and forth over the top. Ink up your brush for darker, less ink for lighter.
Start in the middle of the card or at the bottom of the Bermuda Bay with Coastal Cabana. Start off the cardstock or watercolor paper and brush over the card back and forth.
I wanted the blues a little darker so I brushed over some of the Bermuda Bay with Pacific Point.
Let the card dry for a few minutes.
Using the Magnolia Memory Dies, cut out the Magnolia using the Big Shot.
Using Wink of Stella, covert the magnolia. I love sparkle so I covered the flower and leaves.
Cut out the border with Whisper White Cardstock 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 using the Ornate Border Dies. Then add the magnolia with Stampin' Dimensionals.
