P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-7/8" of small magnolia buds with touches of pink and green leaves on white background design of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 3-7/8" of white leaves on green background design of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Pick out the long, thin, solid, scalloped-edge die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put it on top of the large piece of Whisper White Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the straight bottom edge of the die is even with the bottom edge of the white rectangle along a 3-7/8" side. Run through the tool.
Mount the scallop filigree image from the Good Morning Magnolia Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom of the cut white cardstock so it fits into the scalloped border.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beautiful Bouquet Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it just above the previously stamped filigree line so the left edge of the sentiment is in the center of the rectangle.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the strip of Magnolia Lane Designer Paper with the magnolia buds on it to the bottom of the Mossy Meadow rectangle so about 1/16" of green shows on the bottom, left, and right edges of the designer paper.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the strip of Magnolia Lane Designer Paper with the leaves on it to the Mossy Meadow rectangle so the sides are even with the previous piece of designer paper and it overlaps the top of the previous piece of designer paper just a bit.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the stamped and die cut white rectangle to the top of the Mossy Meadow rectangle so about 1/16" of green shows on the top, left, and right edges and the bottom overlaps the top strip of designer paper a bit.
Cut a 4-1/4" piece of the 3/8" Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the matted cardstock/designer paper layers so it covers the seam between the two pieces of designer paper. Flip the rectangle over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the Mossy Meadow cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Petal Pink card.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the 3/8" Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front on the right side and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Mount the single magnolia bud image from the Good Morning Magnolia Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the single bud die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put it on top of the stamped bud image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the bud image is centered. Run through the tool.
Squeeze the lid of the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Pick up some ink from the lid using the Blender Pen. Color in the leaves and stem of the bud. Get more ink on the Blender Pen as needed.
Tip: Stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the cardstock could start to pill and tear.
Tip When you are done clean the tip of the Blender Pen by scribbling on Grid Paper until no more color is coming off.
Use the Petal Pink Marker to add some color to the base of the petals and along the creases of the bud.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored bud cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle just above the filigree line and to the left of the sentiment.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a diamond shaped gem from a sheet of Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the filigree line.
Cut a 10" length of the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center and trim the ends.
Use a squished Mini Glue Dot to adhere the thread bow to the top of the stem on the bud cut out.
