Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock, cut in half on diagonal so you have two diagonal pieces, use one on this card and save the other for a future project
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, cut in half on diagonal so you have two diagonal pieces, use one on this card and save the other for a future project
- 2-3/8" x 2-7/8" from Basic Gray Cardstock, cut in half on diagonal so you have two diagonal pieces, use one on this card and save the other for a future project
- 2-3/8" x 2-7/8" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, cut in half on diagonal so you have two diagonal pieces, use one on this card and save the other for a future project
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
Carefully insert the large Cherry Cobbler diagonal and large Basic Gray diagonal into the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder so they butt up against each other to make a 4" x 5-1/4" rectangle. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed diagonal pieces to the front of the Whisper White Thick card so the Cherry Cobbler diagonal is on the bottom left side and the Basic Gray diagonal is on the upper right side. Make sure the diagonals butt up against each other to make a 4" x 5-1/4" rectangle.
Mount the set of chess pieces image from the Game On Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white, horizontal rectangle.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the chess pieces image on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Smoky Slate Markers to color in three of the chess pieces as shown.
Use the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Markers to color in the remaining two chess pieces as shown.
Adhere the colored chess pieces image to the smaller Basic Gray and Cherry Cobbler diagonals so about 3/16" of color shows around the white rectangle. Make sure the Basic Gray diagonal is in the bottom left corner and the Cherry Cobbler diagonal is in the upper right corner.
Adhere the matted chess pieces image to the front of the card in the center.
Mount the "Hope your day is all fun & games" sentiment from the Game On Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock so you get the words "fun & games."
Cut out the words "fun & games" using Paper Snips.
Use a small piece cut from the Foam Adhesive Strips to adhere the sentiment strip cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the knight (horse) piece on the right side of the chess pieces image.
