T his is my Galentine's Shoebox swap card.
Project Recipe
Cardstock needed:
8 1/2 x 5 1/2" poppy parade
5 1/4 x 4 basic black
5 x 3 3/4 basic white
5 1/4 x 4 basic white for inside
scrap black for frame
scrap white for the label and the flowers
Fold the poppy parade base in half so you have a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card. This one will lift up so the fold will be at the top.
adhere the black layer to the front of the card
using poppy parade ink, stamp one of the large dahlia flowers in each corner area of the basic white layer.
On your scrap white stamp 3 of the dahlia flowers
cut the dahlias out with the coordinating die
set two of them aside and the third one you will use as a mask on the basic white layer you stamped on in the last step.
lay the mask over the stamped flowers and then slide it back just a tad so the mask is not directly covering the whole flower. You want to expose a slight edge so you ensure the leaves will get all the way up to the flower and not leave the white space.
So, now with the mask in place add some of the leaves to the flowers using the old olive ink.
Stamp a couple of leaves on the scrap white and cut them out with the coordinating die. Set them aside with the dahlias for now.
Fill in the white space around the flowers. Use the stamp with the three flowers and calypso coral ink. Then the airy looking sprig in soft seafoam.
using the stitched rectangles, layer two of them to create a small frame.
Pop that up on the front with dimensionals.
line up one of your die cut dahlias on the frame, over the top of the stamped one on the base layer. You can line up the leaf as well and glue that onto the flower. Once you are ready go ahead and glue the flower to the black frame.
Do the same with the second die cut flower and put it in the opposite corner.
Stamp your sentiment on one of the smaller rectangle dies or cut something to fit into the center of the frame. Glue that down flat.
Finish off the inside of the card by stamping a flower and leaves in the lower right corner of your white piece and adhere that in place.
Your final step will be to place some bling in the center of the two flowers you put on top of the frame and one inside the card on that flower.
