A fun fold Easter card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4"
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2-1/2" x 4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" of blue confetti on light blue background design from Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper
- 2 pieces each 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
Fold on the score lines so the two side flaps fold towards the center. Use the Bone Folder to get sharp creases.
Adhere the two pieces of Birthday Bonanza Designer Paper to the two large pieces of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
Adhere the matted designer paper panels to the centers of the two front flaps.
As you are ready to stamp using the Full Of Happiness Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top to protect the mat from ink.
Mount the chick body image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 2" white square so you get the head of the chick. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the chick body image on Block D with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" horizontal rectangle so the tail of the chick goes off the right edge of the cardstock and the top of the chick's head is about 3/8" from the top of the rectangle.
Mount the two eyes image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it on the chick head image on the white square so it fills in the two white spaces for the eyes. Make sure the slightly smaller eye is on the left side. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the two eyes image on Block A with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it on the chick image on the white rectangle so it fills in the two white spaces for the eyes. Make sure the slightly smaller eye is on the left side.
Mount the tiny beak image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it on the chick head image on the white square so it fills in the white space for the beak. Make sure the small white line on the edge of the image is on the lower right side. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the tiny beak image on Block A with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it on the chick image on the white rectangle so it fills in the white space for the beak. Make sure the small white line on the edge of the image is on the lower right side.
Mount the chick feet image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so it is centered under the chick's body (if you had the whole image of the chick's body) and the tops of the legs overlap the bottom of the body a teeny tiny amount.
Mount the "May your Easter be full of happiness." sentiment from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it on the large white rectangle so it overlaps the chick just under his chin.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the inside of the card in the center of the large back panel.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the chick's head on the white square by hand.
Use the edge of one of the blades of the Paper Snips or your fingernail to rough the edges of the cut out chick's head.
Mount the striped, cracked, half egg image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block D. Ink up the stripes using the Markers, remembering which color you used on each stripe. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it in the center of one of the 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" white rectangles. Re-ink the stamp using the Markers on the same stripes as before, breathe on the stamp, and stamp in the center of the other 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" white rectangle.
Mount the outline of the cracked, half egg image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of one of the striped, half egg images. Re-ink the stamp with the Bermuda Bay Pad and stamp it over the other striped, half egg image.
Pick out the half, cracked egg die from the Dino Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped half egg images on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the half egg image is centered. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other half egg image.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the chick and half egg images on the card front to figure out spacing so the egg halves line up with each other to make a whole egg with the seam being diagonal across the seam where the side flaps meet. The chick's head cut out should peek out from behind the left half egg a bit on the left flap.
When happy with the layout, adhere the chick's head cut out in place using SNAIL.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the half egg cut outs near the rounded bottoms to adhere the half egg cut outs in place on either flap. Make sure the adhesive does NOT overlap the edge of the front flaps or the card won't open. Make sure the two egg halves still meet up to make one egg.
Mount the tiny flower image from the Full Of Happiness Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it near one end of the Daffodil Delight strip in the center. Re-ink the stamp with the Mango Melody Ink Pad and stamp it again on the Daffodil Delight strip. Leave room around the images to punch them out. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the tiny flower image on Block A with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it near one end of the Coastal Cabana strip in the center. Leave room around the image to punch it out. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Unlock the Small Bloom Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one of the stamped flowers into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other two flower images.
Use SNAIL to adhere one Daffodil Delight flower punch out and the Coastal Cabana flower punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the egg half on the right front flap. Let the flowers overlap each other a bit as well.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the other Daffodil Delight flower punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the other two flowers a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small rhinestones from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers.
