Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" from Rococo Rose Cardstock
- Petal Pink Cardstock strip at least 2-1/2" wide
- Very Vanilla Cardstock strip at least 2-3/4" wide
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- Rococo Rose Cardstock strip at least 1-1/2" wide
- scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock at least 1-1/4" square
Mount the single bird image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the 2" x 2-1/2" piece of vanilla cardstock. Set aside to let dry. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the bird image with the Memento Pad. Stamp it near the center of the strip of vanilla cardstock.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped bird on the vanilla strip into the punch and get it lined up so you will punch only the half of the bird from just behind the feet to the beak on the circle with the head almost touching the top edge of the circle. Punch.
Mount the single bud image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it on the lower right side of the punched out partial bird circle at a slight angle so the tip of the bud is near the center of the circle.
Place the punched out circle with partial bird on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Markers to color in the dirt around the bird's feet.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Marker to color in the flower bud.
Use the Light Crumb Cake Marker to color in the leaf brackets on the flower bud.
Don't worry about coloring in the rest of this bird.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the strip of Petal Pink into the punch and punch.
Adhere the stamped and partially colored vanilla circle to the Petal Pink circle.
Place the stamped, complete bird on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.

Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Markers to color in the bird's throat, chest, and belly.
Use the Light Mango Melody Marker to color in the bird's beak.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Use Paper Snips to cut the bird out. Just cut the feet and legs off.
Adhere the cut out bird over the top of the bird on the vanilla circle so the tail sticks out past the circles on the left side.
Pick out a laser-cut card from the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin.
Adhere the matted circles with bird cut out attached to the center of the front of the laser-cut card.
Put some additional SNAIL Adhesive on the back side of the front of the laser-cut card where the circles and bird's tail are located. Also put a thin line of either Fine-Tip Glue or Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the outside edges of the back side of the front of the laser-cut card.
Adhere the large rectangle of Rococo Rose to the back side of the front of the laser-cut card.
Mount the "hello" sentiment from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it in on the strip of Rococo Rose Cardstock leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment in and get it lined up in the center of the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the upper right side of the vanilla circle.
Cut an 8" piece of Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon.
Cut a 10" piece of Linen Thread.
Fold the organdy ribbon into thirds. Use the Linen Thread to tightly pinch the center of the folded organdy ribbon together. Tie a knot in the Linen Thread and then tie a small bow. Trim the ends of the Linen Thread.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the pinched ribbon to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right side of the vanilla circle over the end of the stamped flower bud.
Mount the large, single flower image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Rococo Rose Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the scrap of vanilla cardstock.
Place the stamped flower on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Marker to color in the folded up edges of the flower and to highlight the stamens.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the colored flower by hand.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhered the colored, cut out flower to the center of the ribbon.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Rococo Rose dot from a sheet of 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower cut out.
