P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Polished Pink Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of diagonal light pink gingham design from Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Polished Pink Cardstock
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Tea Boutique Designer Paper to the center of the large Polished Pink rectangle and then to the front of the Petal Pink card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Framed Florets Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "for a special person on a special day" sentiment from the Framed Florets Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Polished Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it near the upper right corner of the 3" x 3-3/4" vertical white rectangle, leaving room to cut it out.
Pick out the open oval with hatch marks along the edge die from the Framed Florets Dies. Put it on top of the stamped white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is near the upper right edge. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Leave the die out.
Note: You are using the solid white oval with sentiment cut out for this project. Recycle the white hatch marked oval frame cut out.
Put the open oval with hatch marks along the edge die on top of the remaining, small Polished Pink rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Note: You are using the hatch marked oval frame cut out in Polished Pink for this project. Keep the solid oval in Polished Pink for use on another project.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Polished Pink open oval with hatch marks along the edge to the card front so it is about 3/8" from the right edge and about 3/4" from the bottom edge.
Adhere the white sentiment oval cut out to the card front so it is centered inside the outline oval cut out.
Pick out the long group of leaves die from the Framed Florets Dies. Put it on the Soft Succulent rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the leaf cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the left side of the framed sentiment oval and the top of the leaves are just a tiny bit higher than the top of the oval frame.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the remaining white rectangle.
Mount the larger grouping of two flowers and leaves image from the Framed Florets Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad and stamp it on the remaining white rectangle.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Pick out the matching flower grouping die from the Framed Florets Dies. Put it on top of the heat embossed flower grouping image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the heat embossed flower grouping cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Polished Pink Stampin' Blends to darken the area near the center of the flowers.
Use the Light Polished Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the flowers and blend in the darker pink.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves.
Color outside the edges of the heat embossed images so the whole cut out is colored.
Use a tissue or paper towel to wipe off any excess color on top of the heat embossed lines.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored, heat embossed flower grouping cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower left side of the framed sentiment oval and covers the bottom of the leaf cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small Polished Pink opals from the sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds making sure you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them in a rough triangle as shown on the bottom right side of the framed sentiment oval.
