Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-7/8" of gold stripes on white background design from Silver & Gold 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-5/8" square of gold foil from Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" Cardstock
- 3" square from Basic White Cardstock
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Old Olive Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub some of the ink off onto Grid Paper. Rub the inky Blending Brush over the gold stripes designer paper rectangle until it is completely covered. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Mount the long, skinny stem with long, skinny leaves image from the Forever Fern Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the lower right corner of the blended, vertical stripes designer paper rectangle so the stem is off the lower right corner. Leave the stamp on the block. Set the designer paper aside to let it dry for a bit.
Insert the Garden Green rectangle into the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
After the blended and stamped designer paper has had a few minutes to dry. Use a clean tissue or paper towel to rub off excess ink.
Adhere the blended and stamped vertical stripes designer paper rectangle to the bottom of the dry embossed Garden Green rectangle so about 1/8" of Garden Green shows on the bottom, left, and right edges.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Garden Green ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock/designer paper rectangle so it hides the seam between the pieces. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Garden Green rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Old Olive card.
Re-ink the long, skinny stem with long, skinny leaves image on Block H with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on one side of the 3" white square, leaving room to cut out the top of the leaf stem with the circle die in a later step.
Mount the "hello" sentiment from the Forever Fern Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on the previously stamped white square so the "h" is just above the first leaf on the right side below the grouping of three leaves at the top of the stem.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a smooth circle that is 2-1/8" diameter. Put it on top of the stamped leaf stem and sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the top of the leaves almost touch the top of the circle and the left sides of the leaves almost touch the left side of the circle. Run through the machine.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a smooth circle that is 2-3/8" diameter. Put it on top of the gold foil square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the leaf stem and sentiment circle cut out to the center of the gold foil circle cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the layered circles to the front of the card on the left side so the word "hello" is just above the ribbon on the card front.
Pick out one trinket from the Open Leaf Trinkets. Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card as shown so the base of the trinket is near the bottom of the stamped leaf stem on the circle cut out.
Cut a 9" piece of the Garden Green ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it covers the end of the Open Leaf Trinket.
