B eautiful tulips showcased in the impressive Angled Gate Fold
Project Recipe
Measurements to cut:
Cardbase - 5 1/2” X 11” (score 3 3/8” from the two shorter sides.)
Belly Band - 1” x 11 “
DSP - 2 piece at 3 1/8” x 5 1/4
Insert - 4” x 5 1/4”
Scraps to fit dies for sentiment and layer; also for tulips and stems
Measure and mark 1 1/2” on the short side (top facing up)
Measure and mark on the bottom 1” from the edge on both sides.
Cut from the scored fold line to the 1 1/2” mark on both sides. This is the top of your card.
Cut from the 1 1/2” mark to the 1” mark
DSP is the more difficult cut - I chose to use copy paper to make a pattern because I had trouble with the angles.
Measure and mark as you did for the card base, being sure of which side of the card it is going on.
Once you’ve cut and created your angles, compare to the cardbase and make adjustments to the copy paper ensuring your angles and edges are correct. I did a little trimming.
Then I transferred this to a piece of cardstock for my pattern.
Adhere the DSP you’ve cut to the card base.
Stamp sentiment on the top of the insert, add DSP to the bottom or to the sides, your preference and adhere to the cardbase in the middle section.
Make the belly band by wrapping the 1” x 11” piece of cardstock around the card, be careful not to have it too loose or too tight. Adhere the ends together with the seam in the front - this will be hidden by your focal point..
Cut scalloped circle using layering circle dies out of the cardstock used for the base and belly band. Cut a smaller circle from the DSP and adhere to the belly band using glue or tear and tape.
Cut two tulips and stems out using the dies and put them together on the focal piece.
I chose to use Wink of Stella on the tulips for added sparkle.
Add a bow to the front.
