ombining the Faux Frame technique with the Silhouette Dies and Stamps makes great birthday cards for boys and girls.
Make as a set with the Make A Wish card to use the full tree silhouette.
Project Recipe
Cutting:
8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Thick Whisper White Cardstock scored at 4 /14
4 x 5 1/4 Bermuda Bay Cardstock
5 x 3 3/4 Watercolor Paper
4 1/4 x 5 Basic Black Cardstock for tree
Preparing the Faux Frame Base:
Using washi tape or Painter's Tape, cover 1/2 inch in from all four sides. Make sure pressed down tight so water does not seep under.
Using the Aqua Painter, add water to the watercolor paper covering the exposed area completely.
Sprinkle a small amount of Pigment Sprinkles in the following order from the bottom to top:
Daffodil Delight; Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Bermuda Bay. Less is more!
Using the aqua painter (without more water) or a paintbrush, spread the colors across the paper blending at the edges.
Let dry completely; use heat tool to dry quicker if desired.
Stamping and Die Cut:
Stamp the girl in the swing using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. You may need to go over with the Dark Black Stampin Blends to solidify image.
Cut out the Silhouette Tree in Basic Black and adhere lining up the swing ropes. Be careful to only add adhesive within the confines of the frame. Trim off at the edge of the frame. (Keep these pieces to use on the Make a Wish version)
Stamp saying in the left bottom corner.
Stamp the inside saying.
Stamp the envelop with the branches from Rooted in Nature along the left lower edge.
Assembly:
Adhere the Bermuda Bay to the card base.
Adhere the Watercolor Paper to the card base. I used Tear & Tape as it is heavier than regular cardstock.
