Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Bermuda Bay Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-11/16" x 5-1/8" from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/8" of light blue dots on kraft background pattern from Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Pool Party Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
- scrap of Bermuda Bay Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
Mount the guitar image from the Epic Celebrations Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Memento Pad and stamp on the white rectangle. Set aside to let it dry a few minutes.
Place the Crumb Cake rectangle into the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Reinsert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the embossing folder in a slightly different place. Run through the Big Shot again.
Remove the cardstock from the folder and rotate it 180 degrees. Reinsert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the embossing folder. Run through the Big Shot one more time.
Adhere the dry embossed Crumb Cake layer to the Pool Party rectangle and then to the front of the Bermuda Bay card.
Unlock the Ticket Tear Border Punch. Slide one long side of the Bermuda Bay strip into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched.
Tip: I sometimes find it easier to line things up with this punch if I turn the punch over so I can see the punching area. I then line up the punched areas with the designs of the punch before punching again.
Adhere the strip of Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper to the center of the punched Bermuda Bay strip.
Adhere the matted designer paper strip to the front of the card on the left side so the punched edge is on the right and there is about 1/4" of Crumb Cake Cardstock showing on the left side.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Insert the scrap of Bermuda Bay Cardstock. Punch.
Mount the "Here's to an Epic Celebration" sentiment on Block B. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the scrap of Pool Party Cardstock.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the Bermuda Bay circle.
Adhere the sentiment circles to the card front so they are centered over the right side of the matted designer paper strip near the top.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped guitar image on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. Work in small areas at a time. The colors blend best when they are wet. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light color first and add highlights with the darker color. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter color.
Use Light and Dark Crumb Cake on the right side of the guitar body and the top. Use Light and Dark Pool Party on the neck and frets and in the middle of the body to blend into the Crumb Cake area. Use Light and Dark Bermuda Bay on the left side of the guitar body.
Cut out the guitar by hand using Paper Snips.
Put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the body. Cut a thin piece from the edge of the Dimensionals and put it behind the top of the guitar.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the guitar at a slight angle in the lower right corner of the card front.
Carefully remove 3 Pool Party sequins from a sheet of Tutti-frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure you get the adhesive as well as the sequin. Adhere them randomly to the right side of the card front.
