This card is so easy to make and a lot of fun. I used four different colors to sponge the background to look like a watermelon. The seeds are made with the tree builder punch.
Project Recipe
Create card base by folding 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of thick Whisper White card stock in half. Burnish with bone folder.
Adhere 5 1//2 x 4 1/4 piece of Basic Black card stock to card base. It will be the same size as the entire front of the card base. Set aside.
On the 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White card stock layer, stamp "SWEET" in Basic Black Archival Ink in the top right hand corner. You can stamp it straight or tilt it a little. Be sure to use a stamp and pierce mat if you do not have a solid surface.
Begin sponging using sponge wedges and starting with Emerald Envy to create the rind. Go over the top with Lemon Lime Twist. Add both colors until desired tone. Make each end toward edge of card stock slightly rounded.
Sponge on a thin strip of Flirty Flamingo next to the rind.
Leave a little white space between the Flirty Flamingo and sponge on Berry Burst to create the meat of the fruit. This will take up the majority of the card front. Don't worry it it is blotchy, that is part of the look.
Punch out 4 tear-drop shaped pieces out of a narrow strip of scrap Basic Black card stock using the Tree Builder Punch.
Using glue dots, adhere the "seeds" to the card front in a random pattern.
Adhere the finished card front to the card base.
Stamp and sign the back!
