Q uick, simple and easy to remember box!
Project Recipe
Start with a full sheet of cardstock. This project will work with both A4 and US size cardstock. (the difference will be that the size of the flap which tucks into the box will be slightly longer for A4 sized card.)
Using your scoreboard, put the cardstock in portrait and score at 2.5", flip over and repeat to have scored 2.5" in from each side.
Turn the cardstock landscape and score every 2.5" along.
2.5", 5", 7.5" and 10"
The thin portion remaining will form the flap to tuck into the box.
Cut up each of the scorelines along the landscape sides til it meets the first intersections.
Remove the rectangles to the left and right of the thin flap (I have also used a circle punch to notch out a half circle).
Cut the first full rectangles after the flap diagonally as shown.
I have also slightly notched my tabs. this can then be covered with DSP. If you are planning to leave plain, I would not notch the tabs.
Decorate your box.
If using directional DSP (or as my example - embossed items), ensure they are facing the correct direction.
The size of the rectangular panels is 3 1/4 x 21/4 and the square sides are 2 1/4"
Fold up the box and glue the tabs together, leaving the diagonals tabs free to tuck in with the lid last.
Just remember 2.5" and this box is quick as a flash to whip up!
