H andbag made with DSP. Cover a notebook and pen to include in the bag
Project Recipe
With a 12 x 12 sheet of DSP, cut down to 12 x 9 inches.
Score the DSP on the 12 inch side at 1inch, 5 1/4 inch, 6 3/4 inch and 11 inch.
Turn the card stock on the short side and score at 1 1/2 inch and 7 1/2 inch mark.
Cut the handles from the DSP at 3/4 inch x 11 1/2 inch. And 1 inch x 12 from a matching cardstock.
Fold on all the score lines.
Cut the middle tabs on both sides of the bag.
Adhere the patterned strip of DSP to the base card strip to make the handle.
Fold over scored trim edge to DSP front and adhere the corners.
Repeat for other side of bag.
Position the handles and use the paper piercing tool to make small holes and use a decorative brad.
I stapled the front left handle for added strength the staple will be hidden by the flower decoration.
To make the flower, punch 5 flower shapes from coordinating card.
Sponge the edges for added detail. Pierce the centre and insert a mini brad. Spritz the flower with water and scrunch up to give the flower shape and volume.
Add some ribbon to the back of the flower and adhere to the handbag.
You may also choose to add a small notebook and pen to the bag to complete the gift.
