Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Scribble across the large, vertical Very Vanilla rectangle in blocks of color using the Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive watercolor pencils from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1 so each color fills about 1/3 of the rectangle.
Unscrew the large flat brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Put the vanilla rectangle with blocks of color scribbled on it using the watercolor pencils on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Gently squeeze the large flat brush tip Water Painter to get some drops of water on the colored vanilla rectangle. Brush the Water Painter across the vertical rectangle horizontally to blend the lines of the colored scribbles. Add more water to the brush tip as needed by squeezing the Water Painter. Try not to let the colors bleed together too much. Set the watercolored vanilla rectangle aside to dry.
Insert the large Rich Razzleberry rectangle into the floral embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Rich Razzleberry rectangle to the front of the Old Olive card.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-1/2" x 2-3/4". Put it on top of the Old Olive rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Insert the Old Olive stitched rectangle cut out into the crosshatched embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders set. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Old Olive stitched rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it is about 1" from the top and about 5/8" from the right side.
If the watercolored vanilla rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying using the Heat Tool if desired.
Mount the long, skinny group of wildflowers image from the Dragonfly Garden Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Saddle Brown StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the watercolored vanilla rectangle so the tops of the flowers are in the Rich Razzleberry block of color near the top and the stems are in the Old Olive block of color near the bottom.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-3/4" x 3-3/4". Put it on top of the stamped and watercolored vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the wildflowers. You will cut some of the stems off the bottom. Run through the machine.
Use the watercolor pencils to color in some of the flowers and leaves:
- use Rich Razzleberry to color in the petals of the three coneflowers near the top
- use Calypso Coral to color in the centers of the three coneflowers near the top and the clover near the bottom right side
- use Old Olive to color in the larger leaves of the coneflowers and clover
Adhere the colored wildflowers stitched rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it is about 3/4" from the top and about 5/8" from the left edge. It should overlap the left edge of the Old Olive stitched rectangle cut out a bit.
Mount the "may good things grow all year long" sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining Very Vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-1/4" x 1-3/4". Put it on top of the sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment stitched rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it is about 1/2" from the right side and about 1-1/4" from the bottom. It should overlap the bottom of the Old Olive rectangle and the right side of the watercolored flower rectangle a bit as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Cotton Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color both sides of the ribbon. Allow to dry.
Tie a half knot in the center of the colored ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle so it is centered over the bottom left corner of the sentiment rectangle cut out.
Pick out a trinket from the Dragonfly Trinkets. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the card front at a slight angle as shown so it is centered in the Old Olive rectangle cut out.
