T his quick and easy-to-make treat holder is made with two sided patterned paper. There is a pocket on each side to put a note into, some tea, a treat, or a gift card. Perfect for a RAK (random act of kindness) gift, for co-workers or teachers. Use Valentine paper and give to a friend.
Project Recipe
Cut and score double sided paper as follows:
~Cut a piece of patterned paper to 8 1/2" x 12" (should be a random pattern)
~Score at 2 1/2" parallel to each long edge
~Score parallel to short edge at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 5", 6", 7", 9 1/2", 10 3/4"
~Fold and burnish on all score lines
~Cut away 2 1/2" square on each corner
On section where square was cut off, fold corner diagonally to form a triangle. Repeat on each of the four sections as shown.
Fold each long side into center.
Burnish project again.
~Fold project in half on the 6" score line and burnish all again.
~Leave this center fold in place and fold back each side on the 5" and 7" score marks.
~This makes two back-to-back pockets.
~Fold back both 1 1/4" sections on the top of each side.
~Make two pencil marks at 1 1/2" inches in from each side on the top flap area. Punch these dots with a 1/8" paper punch. Use these two as a pattern for placement of holes on opposite side and punch.
~These holes are for threading ribbon through.
~Cut 11" of ribbon and thread through holes. Tie a bow on one side.
~Decorate with sequins, images, etc.
~Optional cardstock to write a note onto can be made. Cut cardstock to 3"x 2".
~Pockets can fit business cards, cash, tea bags, giftcards etc.
