Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, foil sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2 pieces each 5" x 5-1/2" from Real Red Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 6-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1-1/2" from Gold Foil Sheets
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" of pink and white dots on shiny red background design from From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper
Pick out the half backpack die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of one of the 5" x 5-1/2" pieces of Real Red Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other 5" x 5-1/2" piece of Real Red Cardstock. Leave the die out for use in a later step.
As you are ready to stamp using the Dino Days Photopolymer Set, put the cardstock on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the bunch of small circles image from the Dino Days Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over both backpack half cut outs. Let some of the images go off the sides. Leave the stamp on the block for use in a later step.
Fold on all the score lines using the Bone Folder.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top of the thin flap along the side of the gusseted side of the backpack part of one half of the backpack cut out. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the other half of the backpack cut out to it so one long side of the solid backpack front is attached. Make sure the bottom of the backpack flaps are on the bottom.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top of the thin flap along the side of the loose gusseted side of the backpack part. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the other end of the backpack cut out to it to form the front, back, and sides of the backpack.
Put some strips of Tear & Tape on the under side of one of the large bottom flaps. Remove the protective backings and adhere the flap to the other bottom flap. Make sure the small side bottom flaps are tucked up inside the bag.
Tip: You can put the broad end of the Bone Folder down into the bag with the bag standing up on the work surface and rub hard against the bottom to make sure the adhesive sticks good and tight.
Mount the “I love you THIS much!....” sentiment from the Dino Days Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom in the center of the 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" strip of white cardstock.
Place the half backpack die from the All Dressed Up Dies on top of the stamped white cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the front of the backpack is centered over the sentiment with the sentiment near the bottom edge. Run through the tool.
Use Paper Snips to trim the sentiment out following the stitched lines cut into the cardstock by the die. Leave the top untrimmed.
Pick out the cracked half egg die from the Dino Dies. Put it on top of the stamped white sentiment cut out on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the jagged edges will cut off the top of the white sentiment from one edge towards the center just above the top of the sentiment. Run through the tool. Place the die back on top of the sentiment cut out so it will finish cutting off the top edge with the jagged edges. Try to line up the notched on the die and on the already cut edge of the cardstock as best you can. Run through tool.
Use Paper Snips as needed to clean up the notched edges across the top of the sentiment cut out.
Adhere the sentiment cut out to the bottom of the front of the backpack so the edges line up with the stitched lines cut into the bottom and sides of the backpack front.
Mount the t-rex image from the Dino Days Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Re-ink the bunch of small circles image on Block A with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it twice on the belly of the t-rex image one above the other. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the t-rex die from the Dino Dies. Put it on top of the stamped t-rex image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the t-rex image is centered. Run through the tool.
Pick out the curve of spikes die from the Dino Dies. Put it on top of the small piece of From My Heart Designer Paper on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Put SNAIL along the back of the t-rex cut out along his back and tail curve. Adhere the spikes cut out to the back of the t-rex cut out so they will show.
Adhere the t-rex cut out to the front of the backpack in the center so his legs overlap the top of the sentiment strip a bit.
Pick out the the long, thin strap die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of one side of the 1-1/4" x 6-1/4" piece of Real Red Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Repeat on the other side of the cardstock so you have two straps.
Pick out one of the short, thin dies with 4 rectangles and 2 slits in them from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of the Gold Foil Sheet piece on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. KEEP ALL THE PIECES!
Thread the buckles onto one end of each strap cut out so the bars across the center of the buckles is on the back side of the straps.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape on the front of each strap cut out on the end without the buckles to adhere the straps in place to the front of the backpack on the inside as shown.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape on the back of each strap cut out on the end with the buckles to adhere the straps in place to the back of the backpack as shown.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere two of the small, solid Gold Foil rectangles cut out when you cut out the buckles to the front of the backpack so they overlap the top of the backpack and the bottom of the strap as shown.
Fill the backpack with treats and give away!
