F un card using a mirror image technique and Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put the Stamparatus Deluxe Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put the Silicone Craft Sheet on the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the 2-3/4” x 5-1/4” white cardstock on the Silicon Craft Sheet on the Deluxe Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus so the top long edge is on the 1” horizontal line and the left short side is on the 5-1/4” vertical line (the cardstock should be horizontal). Use one magnet across the center to hold the cardstock in place.
Pick out the t-rex image from the Dino Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. Place the image upside down on the left side of the horizontal strip of white cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that the top of the dino image is about 1/4" from the top of the cardstock and the end of the tail of the image goes off the left edge of the cardstock by about half the tail. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the white cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Gorgeous Grape Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Remove the cardstock from the base of the Stamparatus.
Re-ink the t-rex image on the plate with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Close the plate onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and press firmly. Open the plate.
Place the already stamped white cardstock upside down on the Stamparatus base so it is lined up on the same lines as before (1” and 5-1/4”). Put a piece of scratch paper on top and rub firmly.
Remove the cardstock. You should have a mirror image t-rex on the other end of the cardstock. It may have an interesting pattern because of stamping on the Silicone Craft Sheet with the photopolymer stamp.
Pick out the smaller scalloped edge heart die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies. Put it in the center of the t-rex stamped rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the heart is centered between the dinosaurs. Run through the tool. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tools to remove the pieces. Keep the die out for use on a later step.
Tip: Keep the cut out solid white and outline white heart for use on a later project.
Adhere the square of Highland Heather Cardstock to the back of the t-rex stamped rectangle with the heart cut out of the center so the light purple shows through the heart cut out.
Put the scalloped heart die in the center of the Purple Posy square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tools to remove the pieces.
Tip: Keep the outline Purple Posy heart for use on a later project.
Put the solid purple heart cut out on top of paper (Grid Paper works great) on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat.
Mount the grouping of small circles image from the Dino Days Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it on the purple heart cut out multiple times, re-inking each time, until the heart cut out is covered in small circles.
Adhere the circle stamped heart cut out to the center of the heart cut out of the t-rex rectangle.
Adhere the t-rex rectangle to the Gorgeous Grape rectangle so there is about ¼” of Gorgeous Grape showing at the top.
Place the ¾” x 4-1/4” piece of white cardstock on top of the Stampin’ Pierce Mat.
Mount the “I love you this much!...” sentiment from the Dino Days Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip.
Pick out the stitched label die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies that cuts out a label that is 3-3/8" long. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool. Keep ALL the pieces!
Adhere the stamped sentiment cut out to the card front so it is centered between the dinosaurs and looks like they are holding the banner in place.
Adhere the banner shaped end pieces to the card front so they are hanging down from the bottom right side of the dinosaur stamped white rectangle at slightly different lengths (tuck them under the white rectangle if needed).
Cut a 6" piece of Purple 3/8” Tricolor Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the card front so it covers the seam between the white and Gorgeous Grape layers. Secure in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the Gorgeous Grape rectangle. Adhere the Gorgeous Grape rectangle to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Purple 3/8" Tricolor Ribbon.
Slide one end of the small piece of ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place using a half knot. Center it over the small banners. Trim the ends.
