F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock
- scrap of Night of Navy Cardstock at least 3" long
Place the Buffalo Check background stamp rubber side up on Grid Paper on your work surface . Ink up the stamp by pouncing or rubbing the Grapefruit Grove Ink Pad all over it. Leave the inked up stamp face up on your work surface. Carefully place the large Grapefruit Grove rectangle on the stamp. Fold the Grid Paper up and over the top of everything and rub firmly all over. Using the Grid Paper protects your hands from getting ink on them.
Tip: I just clean my background stamps by running them under water until the water runs clear. Then, I let them air dry.
Use a ruler and the fine tip of the Night of Navy Marker to add lines in between all the plaid lines on the stamped cardstock.
Adhere the stamped and lined Grapefruit Grove layer to the large Night of Navy rectangle.
Lay the matted cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke a hole through the cardstock layers in the upper right corner.
Pick out a Night of Navy brad from the Basic Brads and insert it in the hole.
Flip the cardstock over and bend the prongs of the brad flat.
Adhere the matted cardstock layers to the front of the Grapefruit Grove card.
Mount the "happy birthday" stamp from the Darling Label Punch Box on the clear block. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Grapefruit Grove strip on one end.
Unlock the Darling Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Slide the strip of Night of Navy Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the punched Night of Navy piece to the back of the sentiment punch out so it is centered behind the line with "birthday" on it.
Cut a 3" piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon so both ends are angled.
Fold the ribbon in half. Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the back of the punch outs so it will poke up on the upper left side when the cardstock is right side up. Leave the protective backing on the Tear & Tape in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the punch outs and ribbon to the lower left corner of the card front so the Night of Navy punch out is in line with one of the drawn horizontal Night of Navy lines.
