Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Gray Granite Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" from Gray Granite Cardstock, scored at 5"
- 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" of thin gray marble bricks design from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, cut so the bricks are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 3-3/8" from Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Mount the donkey holding a rose image from the Darling Donkeys Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the large, horizontal white rectangle so the tail is about 1/4" from the left edge and the hooves are about 1/2" from the bottom edge.
Mount the "Hee haw!" sentiment from the Darling Donkeys Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it just above the donkey's head at a slight angle. Make sure the sentiment is at least 1/2" below the top edge of the white rectangle.
Put the stamped white rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the rose.
Use the Dark and Light Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to color in the stem and leaf on the rose.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the insides of the donkey's ears.
Use the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the donkey's hooves, tail, and mane hair.
Use the Dark and Light Soft Suede and Dark and Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the donkey. Leave his teeth white.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends if needed to remove excess color.
Fold the 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" Gray Granite card on the score line.
Cut a 5-1/2" piece of the Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the horizontal In Good Taste Designer Paper rectangle so the ribbon is 1/2" from the bottom edge. Flip the designer paper over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere it to the large flap on the 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" Gray Granite card.
Using Tear & Tape strips, adhere the stamped and colored large white rectangle to the back flap of the Gray Granite card so the front flap is centered over the left side of the white rectangle.
Using Tear & Tape strips adhere the white rectangle with Gray Granite card flap attached to the large Gray Granite rectangle in the center.
Peel the protective backing off of the smaller Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the Poppy Parade strip. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the "2," "0", and "1" dies from the Playful Alphabet Dies. Put them on top of the Poppy Parade strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Poppy Parade (red) side is facing up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Leave room to cut out another "2" in the next step. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backings for the Adhesive Sheet pieces stay in place for now. Keep the "2" and "0" dies out for now.
Put the "2" die on top of the remaining Poppy Parade strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Poppy Parade (red) side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backing for the Adhesive Sheet piece stays in place for now. Continue to keep the "2" die out for now.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the numbers on the white cardstock inside of the card so they overlap the donkey's feet on the right side a bit and spell out "2021." Make sure the bottoms of the numbers are at least 1/2" from the bottom edge of the white rectangle.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from the backs of the numbers and adhere them in place.
Mount the donkey kicking up his heels image from the Darling Donkeys Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad and stamp it in the center of the remaining white square.
Put the stamped white rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the inside of the donkey's ear.
Use the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the donkey's hooves, tail, and mane hair.
Use the Dark and Light Soft Suede and Dark and Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the donkey.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends if needed to remove excess color.
Cut out the donkey by hand using Paper Snips. You may have to cut his tail tuft off and adhere it separately from the rest of him. If you do, be careful not to lose it!
Peel the protective backing off of the larger Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the Mint Macaron strip. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Put the "2" and "0" dies from the Playful Alphabet Dies on top of the Mint Macaron strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Mint Macaron (green) side is facing up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Leave room to cut out another "2" and the "coronavirus" poppy center for the final "0" in the next step. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backings for the Adhesive Sheet pieces stay in place for now. Keep the "2" die out for now.
Pick out the larger, more spiky, circular flower center from the Poppy Moments Dies. Put it and the "2" die on top of the remaining Mint Macaron strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Mint Macaron (green) side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backing for the Adhesive Sheet piece stays in place for now.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the numbers on the front flap of the card so they are just above the ribbon already on the card front and spell out "202." WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the flower center "coronavirus" 0 at the end of the numbers and slightly higher up. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut out kicking donkey on the card front so his front hooves overlap the ribbon on the right side and his back hooves appear to be kicking away the "coronavirus" 0.
When happy with the placement and spacing, carefully remove the protective backings from the numbers and "coronavirus" 0 one at a time and adhere them in place.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the kicking donkey cut out in place. If you cut the tail tuft loose, use a tiny piece cut from the edge of the Dimensionals sheet to adhere it in place.
Cut a 3" piece of the Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front so it is centered under the number "0". Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
