S oft and pretty friendship card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 3" x 6" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the fern image from the Daisy Lane Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the Soft Sea Foam rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the fern image with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp on the already stamped Soft Sea Foam rectangle so the top of the fern is about 3/8" from the top and the fern is about 2-1/4" from the right side. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Pick out the long, thin, pointy-edge lace die from the Delicate Lace Dies. Put it on top of the long strip of Purple Posy Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use a die brush to remove the pieces.
Adhere the lace strip cut out to the bottom of the stamped Soft Sea Foam rectangle so the points are about 1/2" from the bottom. Trim off excess cardstock on the ends if needed using Paper Snips.
Cut a 6" piece of the Mint Macaron 1/4" Textile Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers so it covers the top edge of the lace cut out. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Purple Posy card.
Mount either the "smile" or "friend" sentiment on Block C. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the die that cuts out a 1-3/16" x 2-5/16" label from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Pick out the die that cuts out a 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" label from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Put it on top of the Mint Macaron rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the center of the Mint Macaron label cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted labels to the card front so they are centered over the ribbon and about 1/2" from the right side.
Mount the large daisy image from the Daisy Lane Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Purple Posy Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the large Purple Posy horizontal strip. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it on the other end of the horizontal strip.
Tip: If you make sure that one of the petals of the daisy is pointing straight down when you stamp it, then it will be easier to line things up in the Daisy Punch for punching the daisy out.
Unlock the Daisy Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide one of the stamped daisy images into the punch. Carefully line up the image so it is centered in the punching area. Punch.
Tip: If you have trouble removing the punched cardstock strip, then before removing the cardstock from the punch, slide a piece of copy paper into the punch. Then, slide the square of cardstock and the copy paper out at the same time. This will keep the pointy edges of the punched piece from catching on the punch and tearing.
Slide the second stamped daisy image into the punch and repeat the step above.
Adhere the two daisy punch outs on top of each other so they are slightly offset to make one big, full daisy.
Adhere the daisy to the card front using a Stampin' Dimensional so it is to the left of the sentiment labels and overlaps them and the ribbon and lace cut out a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large gem from a sheet of Clear Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the daisy.
