B right and cheery thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" of dark yellow diamonds on lighter yellow background design from Daffodil Afternoon 12" x 12" Design Series Paper, cut so the diamonds are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/4" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 3-3/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
Pick out the stitched, sharply pointed die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the bottom of the vertical designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the die will cut off the bottom of the designer paper and will create a sharp angle on the right side. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Special Moments Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the long sentiment of choice from the Special Moments Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right edge of the Daffodil Delight strip.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the bottom of the cut designer paper rectangle about 1/4" from the short edges.
Adhere the layered designer paper/sentiment strip to the center of the Mossy Meadow rectangle and then to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Mount the single daffodil image from the Daffodil Daydream Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the matching, large, single daffodil die from the Daffodil Dies. Put it on top of the stamped daffodil image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut an image out with dies before spending all the time to color it in. That way if the die slips during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Put the daffodil cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the petals of the daffodil flower.
Use the Light and Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the trumpet of the daffodil flower.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color in the stems and leaves.
Adhere the colored daffodil cut out to the front of the card on the left side so the bottom of the stem just overlaps the bottom of the cut designer paper rectangle and the left edge almost touches the left edge of the designer paper.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Color the ribbon with the brush tip of the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends.
Tie a half knot in the center of the colored ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it is centered over the bottom of the stem.
Pick out a Bumblebee Trinket. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the trinket to the front of the card in the upper right corner.
