Project Recipe
Take a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock measuring 8 3/4" x 8" and score the long side at 4". Fold an burnish the score line with a bone folder to give a nice, crisp fold.
Take a piece of Whisper White Card stock measuring 8 1/2" x 3 3/4". Take the solid circle stamp from the Eclectic Expressions set and starting with Peekaboo Peach Classic Ink, randomly stamp around the cardstock, rotating the stamp as you go, and stamping some images off the edges. Clean the stamp and repeat with Flirty Flamingo and then Sweet Sugarplum Inks, overlapping some of the images..
Take the small, dotted circle stamp and using Emerald Envy Classic Ink, stamp randomly around the cardstock, again overlapping some of the solid circles, and stamping off the edges for some images.
Take a second piece of 8 1/2 x 3 3/4" Whisper White Cardstock and repeat the previous two steps, just stamping around the edges to create a border. This will be the inside message panel for your card.
On a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock measuring at least 3"x2" stamp the 'Happy Birthday!' from the Eclectic Expressions set in Emerald Envy.
Using the Layering Ovals Framelits Plain Die #5 (I number my dies from largest to smallest) cut the sentiment panel out with the Happy Birthday in the centre. With the vertical lines stamp and Sweet Sugarplum Classic Ink, stamp above and below the Happy Birthday, centreing both images.
With a scrap of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock, use Scalloped Die #6 to cut out a backing oval. Attach the stamped oval to this with liquid glue.
To build the card, stick the first Whisper White Stamped Panel to the front of your card base, leaving approx 1/8" borders all round. Take a piece of Basic Grey Shimmer Ribbon about 5" in length and attach it horizontally behind the Ovals. Attach these to the bottom right hand corner of the card front with liquid glue, about 1" from the right hand edge, and 3/8" from the bottom edge. Trim the ends of the ribbon at an angle.
Attach the second Whisper White Panel with the stamped border to the inside of your card.
Sit back and admire your creation! Who said you have to use ready-made patterned paper?
