P retty Halloween wreath cards for Halloween using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, or Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of a small black plaid design from Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, or Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Basic Gray Cardstock
Choose which side of the small black plaid design of Gingham Cottage Designer Paper you want to use. Adhere it to the center of the large Basic Gray rectangle so the pattern you want to use is showing. Then, adhere it to the front of the Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, or Highland Heather card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Cottage Wreaths Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the stick wreath image from the Cottage Wreaths Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, or Highland Heather square.
Pick out the matching wreath die from the Country Wreaths Dies. Put it on top of the stamped wreath on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Rotate the die around until is is centered over the stamped image . Run through the machine.
Figure out if you want a vertical card (like my Pumpkin Pie version) or a horizontal card (like my Old Olive and Highland Heather versions).
If you are using a piece of Glitter Washi Tape across the card behind the entire wreath (like I did on the Pumpkin Pie card), then cut a piece of matching color Glitter Washi Tape that is 3-1/2" long and has a sharp angle on either end. Adhere the washi tape across the front of the card where it will be centered under the wreath image (for my vertical Pumpkin Pie card, that is about 1-3/4" from the top of the card).
Use Mini Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the wreath cut out to the front of the card as shown depending on if you want a vertical or horizontal card.
Mount the spider image from the Cottage Wreaths Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the image on one end of the skinny Basic Gray strip, leaving room to cut it out.
Mount the "Boo!" sentiment from the Cottage Wreaths Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the other end of the skinny Basic Gray strip, leaving room to cut it out.
Pick out the spider die from the Country Wreaths Dies and the small banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put them on top of the stamped strip of Basic Gray on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the stamped images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Note: If you are making the Old Olive card layout, make sure the word "Boo!" is slightly closer to the right side of the small banner die.
For the Pumpkin Pie vertical card layout, use Mini Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the inside of the center of the wreath so it is centered over the washi tape.
For the Highland Heather horizontal card layout, use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the left edge of the sentiment banner cut out. Then, use Mini Dimensionals from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere it inside the center of the wreath on the left side.
For the Old Olive horizontal card layout, cut a 2-1/4" piece of matching washi tape from the Glitter Washi Tape. Then, cut a notch in the right end using Paper Snips Scissors. Adhere the notched washi tape to the front of the card so it sticks out from the right side of the wreath cut out near the center. Then, adhere the sentiment banner cut out with the "boo!" towards the right edge to the front of the card so it is centered over the washi tape top to bottom and the left end of the banner is tucked under the right side of the wreath cut out. About 1/2" of washi tape should stick out from the right edge of the banner sentiment cut out.
Cut a 1-1/2" inch piece of the black Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Use a Mini Dimensional from the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack to adhere one end of the twine to the back of the spider cut out so the twine is sticking out behind the spider. Adhere the spider cut out with twine attached to the front of the card as shown so it appears to be hanging down from the right side of the wreath cut out.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the loose end of the twine to the bottom right side of the wreath cut out.
Cut a 10" piece of the White 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Tie a bow in the center of the ribbon and trim the ends.
Lay the bow on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the matching color of Dark Stampin' Blends to color the entire bow on both sides. Allow to dry for a minute or two.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the colored bow to the front of the card at a slight angle so it covers the end of the twine as shown.
For the Pumpkin Pie card, use the Take Your Pick to peel up three different sizes of gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack making sure you get the adhesive backings as well and adhere them randomly to the front of the card.
For the Old Olive card, use the Take Your Pick to peel up four small dots from the Matte Black Dots making sure you get the adhesive backings as well and adhere them randomly to the wreath cut out. Use the Take Your Pick to peel up one large dot from the Matte Black Dots making sure you get the adhesive backing as well and adhere it in the upper right corner of the card.
For the Highland Heather card, use the Take Your Pick to peel up three Gorgeous Grape pearls from the Pastel Pearls making sure you get the adhesive backings as well and adhere them randomly to the front of the card.
