I saw this technique on Pinterest for a different card and immediately thought how wonderful it would work for straw. I just love how simple and effective it is.
Project Recipe
Cut Cardstock: Cajun Craze – 8 1⁄2” x 5 1⁄2” Basic Black - 5 1/8" x 4 7/8" Early Espresso – 5" x 1 3/4" Whisper White 5" x 1 3/4" Cherry Cobbler 2 1/2" x 1"
Fold the Cajun Craze Cardstock in half with a Bone Folder.
Stamp Scarecrow stamp and crow on scrap of Whisper White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Punch out Scarecrow using Cookie Cutter Punch.
Fussy cut crow.
Wrap rubber bands around a clear block so that they are all flat on one side and crisscrossed on the other side. Also, all rubber bands need to be going the same direction. I also used a variety of widths to give variation.
Use flat side of rubber bands as a stamp. Stamp multiple times with one inking in Cajun Craze Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Clean rubber bands really well.
Repeat Step 7 with Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake Inks.
Adhere now stamped Whisper White Cardstock to Basic Black Cardstock using SNAIL Adhesive.
Emboss Early Espresso Cardstock with Embossing Folder and Big Shot.
Adhere now embossed Early Espresso Cardstock to Basic Black Cardstock using SNAIL Adhesive.
Adhere now matted Cardstock to Cajun Craze Card Front using SNAIL Adhesive.
Stamp sentiment using Versamark ink on Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.
Pour Copper Embossing Powder over just stamped sentiment. Shake excess powder back into container. Heat set sentiment using Heat Tool.
Flag edge of sentiment.
Color Scarecrow using your favorite medium.
Adhere sentiment to back of Scarecrow using SNAIL Adhesive.
Adhere Scarecrow, Crow, and Sentiment to card front using Dimensionals.
