E asy, fun birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Copper Clay Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Pecan Pie Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2" from Copper Clay Cardstock
- 5/8" x 1-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
- tiny scrap of Crushed Curry Cardstock
Insert the large Pecan Pie rectangle into the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder so the lines of music will run horizontally across the vertical rectangle. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Pecan Pie rectangle to the front of the Copper Clay card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Circle Sayings Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "celebrate" words circle image from the Circle Sayings Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp the image on one end of the horizontal Very Vanilla strip leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the 2-3/8" Circle Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped "celebrate" words circle into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the punched out circle to the front of the card in the lower right corner so one of the dots between the words is right at the top.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets strip. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets strip to one side of the thin Copper Clay strip. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the striped candle die from the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of the Copper Clay strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Copper Clay (brown) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the candle cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so it covers the dot at the top of the sentiment circle punch out and sticks out over the top of the circle by about 1/2".
Pick out the tiny, solid flame die from the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of the Crushed Curry scrap on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the tiny flame cut out to the top of the candle on the card front.
Mount the cupcake image from the Circle Sayings Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Pecan Pie square.
Use the Copper Clay Stampin' Write Marker to add some dark highlights to the frosting on the top of the cupcake.
Squeeze the lid of the Pecan Pie Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the rest of the frosting. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more ink is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the stamped and colored cupcake by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cupcake cut out to the front of the card so it is centered in the circle punch out and covers the bottom end of the candle cut out.
