P retty handmade Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1" x 4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/2" from Garden Green Cardstock
Place the larger Crumb Cake Cardstock rectangle inside the Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Embossing Folder so the boards are running vertically down the paper. Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
If this is the first time you used the Uninked Craft Stampin' Pad & Refill, ink up the pad by squeezing some of the refill onto it and rubbing it in to the pad. Open the Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and rub the ink pad surface across the dry embossed Crumb Cake layer to "whitewash" it. Set it aside to let it dry while you work on the rest of the card.
Pick out the pine needle sprigs thinlits from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place the Garden Green Cardstock on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the three pine needle sprigs thinlits on top , making sure they do not overlap. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the card stock.
Open the Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and dab a Sponge Dauber onto the pad to get it inky. Rub the inky dauber over the edges of the pine needle sprig cut outs to add a touch of white to the needles. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Set aside to let them dry while you work on the rest of the card.
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Christmas Pines stamps, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, solid pine cone image on Block C. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Mount the large, more solid patterned pine cone image on Block B. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped, solid, Crumb Cake pine cone.
Pick out the matching large pine cone thinlit that cuts out and ruffles the pine cone points from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place the stamped pinecone image on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the pine cone thinlit on top so it is centered over the stamped image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces from the die. Ruffle the points up a bit by bending the cut out and using your fingernail or the points of the Paper Snips.
Mount the long, skinny sentiment of your choice on Block H. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the strip of Crumb Cake.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the sentiment by hand.
If the whitewashed board Crumb Cake piece is dry, start assembling the card. If it is not dry, you can speed up the drying by using the Heat Tool.
Without adhering them, place the three pine needle sprigs cut outs on the left side of the whitewashed board Crumb Cake layer to get an idea of the layout.
When happy with the layout of the pine needle sprigs cut outs, adhere them in place one at a time using Mini Glue Dots on the backs of the sprigs. Use one Glue Dot near the bottom and top of each sprig and add an additional Glue Dot near the middle of the largest sprig.
Cut a 10" piece of Linen Thread.
Fold the Linen Thread in half.
Pick out a gold branch sprig from the Year of Cheer Embellishments. Thread the doubled over Linen Thread through the hole at the end of the sprig.
Lay the doubled over twine with the embellishment threaded onto it across the whitewashed board/pine sprigs layer so it is about 1-1/4" up from the bottom. Flip the layer over and fold the ends of the doubled over twine piece over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape pieces and add more SNAIL to the back of the rectangle. Adhere it to the Whisper White Thick card front.
Use a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the Year of Cheer Embellishment to get it to stay put where you want it so it is near the middle of the card and angles up over the pine needle sprigs.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the pine cone cut out to the front of the card at an upward angle just to the right of the embellishment and slightly overlapping the Linen Thread.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the hand cut out sentiment to the card front just below the Linen Thread on the right side.
Cut a 16" piece of Linen Thread.
Double the Linen Thread and tie a small bow in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the bottom of the pine cone at a slight angle.
