P retty Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products and dry embossing with the Big Shot.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-15/16" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 1-5/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Real Red Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 1-7/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Christmas Pines Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Noel" sentiment from the Christmas Pines Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the Shaded Spruce rectangle.
Pick out the long, skinny pine bough thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thin dark blue silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- stamped Shaded Spruce rectangle
- pine bough thinlit with cutting side down so the top tip is pointing into the upper right corner of the cardstock about 1/2" down from the corner
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Tip: This sandwich will let the detailed thinlit dry emboss the cardstock instead of cutting it.
Pick out the other two pine bough thinlits from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thin dark blue silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- stamped Shaded Spruce rectangle
- both pine bough thinlits with cutting sides down so the top tip are pointing up on either side of the previously embossed pine bough with the bottom edges near the bottom of the previously embossed pine bough, make sure the thinlits do NOT overlap!
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Tip: This sandwich will let the detailed thinlit dry emboss the cardstock instead of cutting it.
Mount the more solid pine boughs image from the Christmas Pines Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it a couple of times over the dry embossed pine boughs at different angles. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the dry embossed and stamped Shaded Spruce rectangle to the front of the Real Red card.
Mount the solid, large pine cone image from the Christmas Pines Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it on the larger vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the matching, large, open pine cone framelit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place the stamped solid pine cone image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open pine cone framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped pine cone image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the 1-1/8" x 1-5/8" piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to the one side of the Crumb Cake rectangle. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Crumb Cake facing up).
Pick out the large, more open, detailed pine cone thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place it on top of the Crumb Cake Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the detailed pine cone cut out and adhere it to the top of the Soft Suede pine cone cut out.
Adhere the layered pine cone cut out to the bottom of the pine boughs on the card front on the left side at a slight angle.
Mount the solid, small pine cone image from the Christmas Pines Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT re-inking, stamp it on the smaller vanilla rectangle.
Mount the more solid but still detailed small pine cone image from the Christmas Pines Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped small pine cone image.
Pick out the matching, small, open pine cone framelit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place the stamped small pine cone image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open pine cone framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped pine cone image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the small pine cone cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the large pine cone slightly on the right side at a slight angle.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on the remaining piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to the one side of the Real Red rectangle. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Real Red Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Real Red facing up).
Pick out the smaller bow thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Place it on top of the Real Red Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the bow cut out and adhere it to the top of the pine cones on the card front at a slight angle.
Pick out 5 different sized sequins in copper, gold, iridescent, or silver from the Metallics Sequin Assortment and adhere them randomly to the card front using tiny drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Squeeze the glue from the fine tip of the dispenser.
