I made this card for a team meeting swap. We decided to do Fun Folds. This did turn out to be fun.
Project Recipe
Take the piece of cardstock you will be using for your base and lay it down in Landscape position, on the left side measure up from the bottom to 5 ½ and on the right side from the bottom up to 2 ½ . Rotate around until you have the opposite side in front of you and make the same measurements. Take your ruler and connect the marks you just made. Use your trimmer to cut these two pieces apart.
Next, with long end to the left edge, use scoreboard and score both panels at 2”, 4”, 8”, 10” and put a pencil mark at 6” (do not score) use ruler and make a faint pencil from top to bottom of the panel.
With both panels laying in front of you with long side to the right, measure up to 2 ¾ ins. on the tall side and make a mark and 1 ¼ ins. on the short side and make a mark. Take your ruler and draw a faint line connecting the two lines.
With both panels laying in front of you with the small end on the left and straight edge ` on bottom you will now make a few cuts. Take the top panel and cut down from the top to the middle line at the 2” and 10” marks and cut up from the 6” mark to the middle line. Now take the other panel and do the opposite. Cut up from the bottom the middle line at the 2” and 10” and cut down from the 6” mark to the middle line. Now it’s time to put the two panels together.
Take the two long ends, flat side on bottom and pointed side facing up and attach by putting one cut mark into the other.
Take the two long ends, flat side on bottom and pointed side facing up and attach by putting one cut mark into the other.
Now you will fold at the last score lines and attach the last cut marks at the 2” in marks.
Your Cascade card is not put together. You can now decorate any way that you like.
When I decorated mine, I put a big panel on the front which measured 3 ¾ x 3 1/8 in.
Each panel after that was 1 ¾ x 4 ½ and 1 ¾ x 5 ¼. Before I glued down I cut the top at the correct angle. I also attached a bigger piece on the back that measured 6 ½ x 4 to make the card sturdy and used to attach decorations to. I also put a piece of Whisper White cardstock on that back panel to write my message and salutation on. That piece measured 6 ¼ x 3 ¾ in. This card is fun to decorate and can be done in so many ways. Have Fun and I hope these directions were easy enough to follow.
