S weet Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" of flocked white and red diagonal stripes design from Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Candy Cane Season Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the candy canes forming a heart image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block B. Repeatedly ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the top half of the large white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges. Change the angle of the stamp a little each time.
Adhere the piece of Santa's Workshop Designer Paper to the bottom of the stamped white rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across stamped white/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two layers. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the Tags & Tidings stamp on Block F. Place the mounted stamp on Grid Paper on your work surface so the stamp is facing up. Ink up the side of the stamp with the "Christmas Greetings" crossed candy canes tag (in the center of the right side) with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad by rubbing or pouncing the pad on the stamp. Leave the inked up stamp laying on your work surface inky stamp side up. Place the small Whisper White rectangle on the top of the inky stamp. Fold the Grid Paper over the stamp and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and carefully remove the cardstock from the background stamp.
Place the stamped white rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Christmas Tags Thinlits on top so the banner tag in the center of the left side is centered over the stamped "Christmas Greetings" with crossed candy canes image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure none of the thinlit hangs over the edges of the platform or it will catch on the sides of the Big Shot which could damage your thinlit or Big Shot or both.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Poppy Parade Marker to carefully outline the edges of the tag cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the tag cut out to the front of the card so it appears to be hanging from the ribbon on the left side.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon piece. Trim the ends at angles.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the tag.
