Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Terracotta Tile Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3" x 5-1/8" of orange arches mosaic design from Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Butterfly Gala Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Place a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
To make it easier to stamp the big and little butterflies separately, use Paper Snips to carefully cut a set of the butterflies from the Butterfly Gala Set apart.
If you don't want to cut your stamps apart, then you can just carefully ink up only the butterfly you want to stamp by pressing only it to the ink pad, but it is much easier if you cut them apart!
Mount the small butterfly you cut loose image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the left side of the front of the Terracotta Tile card. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation every so often. Let some of the images go off the edges.
Adhere the piece of Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper to the front of the card so the top is even with the top of the card and 3/8" of card shows on the bottom and right edges.
Cut a 4-1/4" piece of Terracotta Tile 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon so both ends are sharply angled.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the card front about 1-3/4" from the bottom edge. Remove the protective backing and adhere the piece of ribbon to the Tear & Tape.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of the 1" x 4" strip of vanilla cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the "thank you so very much" sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched strip of vanilla cardstock so the notch is on the left and the sentiment is centered.
Adhere the punched and stamped sentiment strip to the card front so it overlaps the ribbon so the bottom scallops are along the bottom of the sentiment strip.
Cut an 8" piece of the Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature's Twine.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine and trim the ends. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card at the base of the "h" in the word "much."
Mount the large butterfly you cut loose image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it on end of the remaining vanilla strip.
Mount the solid, large, top wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the top wings of the stamped large butterfly image.
Mount the solid, large, bottom wings image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it inside the bottom wings of the stamped large butterfly image.
Unlock the Butterfly Duet Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the large stamped butterfly image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Mount the larger, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the large, stamped butterfly punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the body for the butterfly if I punch the image out first.
Bend the wings up a bit if desired.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the butterfly punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the top of the sentiment strip about the word "you."
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a Terracotta Tile flower gem from a sheet of Flower Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the card front above the butterfly punch out.
