P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Magenta Madness Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Blushing Bride Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 5" x 6" from Basic White Cardstock
Pick out the interlocking weaves die from the Brilliant Wings Dies. Place the die vertically on top of the vertical Blushing Bride rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the left edge of the die goes off the left edge of the cardstock a bit and the bottom of the die goes off the bottom of the cardstock a bit. Run through the machine. Keep the die out.
Note: This die cuts interlocking weaves into the cardstock, it doesn't really cut anything out.
Place the interlocking weaves die vertically on top of the vertical Blushing Bride rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine again so the left edge of the die fits roughly into the right edge of the previously cut weaves. The bottom of the die may hang over the bottom edge of the cardstock a bit. Run through machine. Repeat cutting with the die along the bottom of the entire vertical rectangle.
Mount the "special delivery" postmark circle image from the Posted For You Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Blushing Bride Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly across the top of the vertical, die cut Blushing Bride rectangle in a upperwards line from the left edge to the right edge. The image on the left edge should be about 1-3/4" from the top and the image on the right edge should be about 1/2" from the top. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let the images go off the left and right edges a bit and let them interlock a bit.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the skinny white strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notched top) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "Happy Birthday" or "Just a note..." sentiment from the Posted For You Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Magenta Madness Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched white strip so the punched notch is on the left and the left end of the sentiment is about 1/4" from the notch.
Place the sentiment stamped banner on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Rub a Blending Brush across the open Magenta Madness Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the sentiment banner and the edges of the banner. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Cut a 6" piece of Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color 1/4" Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the right end of the stamped and blended sentiment banner so it is just past the right end of the sentiment and tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
Adhere the stamped and blended banner sentiment with ribbon tied on it to the die cut Blushing Bride rectangle so it overlaps the top of the interlocking weaves die cuts and there is about 1/4" of sentiment banner between the ribbon and right side of the Blushing Bride rectangle. Use Paper Snips to cut off excess banner sentiment punch out on the right edge.
Adhere the stamped and die cut Blushing Bride rectangle with banner sentiment attached to the front of the Magenta Madness card.
Mount the Butterfly Brilliance stamp on Block F. Ink it up with the Blushing Bride Ink Pad. Rub a Blending Brush across the open Magenta Madness Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over parts of some of the butterflies on the stamp. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Rub a different Blending Brush across the open Calypso Coral Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over parts of some of the butterflies on the stamp. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Leave the inked up stamp rubber side up on your work surface. Place the large white rectangle on top of the inked up stamp. Fold the Grid Paper over on top of the stamp with cardstock on top and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and remove the stamped white cardstock rectangle.
Place the butterflies stamped white cardstock on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Rub the Blending Brush with Magenta Madness ink on it across the open Magenta Madness Ink Pad to get it inky again. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the butterflies stamped on the white cardstock. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Pick out the large, open, interconnected butterflies die from the Brilliant Wings Dies. Place the die on top of the stamped and sponged white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over all the butterflies. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the medium butterfly cut out from the upper left corner of the die on this project. Keep all the other butterfly cut outs and the white rectangle with the butterflies cut out of it to use on other projects.
Lightly bend up the wings of the butterfly cut out.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals down the center of the back of the butterfly cut out to adhere it to the front of the card at a slight angle so it is centered over the line of stamped postmark images.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different sizes of Calypso Coral sequins from a sheet of Artistry Blooms Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown.
