F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Foil Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of Highland Heather small plaid design from Gingham Gala 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 1-5/8" x 5-1/8" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 squares each 1-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Silver Foil Sheets
If you haven't already done so, put some water into an Aqua Painter.
Squeeze the lid of the Highland Heather Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Gently squeeze the Aqua Painter to get a drop or two of water in the lid. Stir the water and ink together with the brush tip of the Aqua Painter. Brush some inky water onto the center left side of the 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" strip of white cardstock creating a watercolor wash until you have the color coverage you want. Get more ink on the Aqua Painter as needed. Set aside to let dry.
Tip: Scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Aqua Painter until no more color is coming off.
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Bubble Over stamps, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper or scratch paper on top of he Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the larger bottle image from the Bubble Over Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 4" white rectangle. Use the Simply Shammy to clean the stamp, but leave it mounted on Block H.
Re-ink the stamp with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad so you get the center of the bottle where the label is inked up. Stamp in the center of one of the squares of white cardstock so you get the label.
Pick out the matching, large, open bottle framelit from the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits. Place the stamped bottle image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open bottle framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped bottle image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the grouping of bubbles image from the Bubble Over Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it on the soda bottle cut out several times. Be careful not to let the bubbles stamp on the white edging around the bottle. Re-ink the stamp every so often. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block for use in a later step.
Cut out the Gorgeous Grape label by hand using Paper Snips so there is no white around the edges.
Adhere the cut out label to the center of the bottle so it covers the label on the stamped image.
Mount the "Yay!" in a circle image on Block B. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the remaining white square.
Tip: If you have a really juicy ink pad, ink may get into the fine lines cut into the stamp. You might want to use a Sponge Dauber to ink up the stamp instead. Just rub a Dauber across the open ink pad and then pounce it onto the stamp until it is completely inked before stamping on the cardstock.
Pick out the circular, flattened bottle cap framelit from the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits. Place the stamped "Yay" circle image on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the circular, flattened bottle cap framelit on top so it is centered over the image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the "Yay!" circle cut out to the center of the label on the bottle.
Pick out one of the little bottle cap framelits from the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits. Place the scrap of Silver Foil Sheets shiny side up on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on your Big Shot. Place the bottle cap framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Squish a Mini Glue Dot together and adhere it to the back of the foil bottle cap cut out. Adhere it to the top of the bottle.
If the watercolor wash on the 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" strip of white cardstock is dry, proceed to the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if desired.
Find the grouping of bubbles image from the Bubble Over Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the watercolor wash background. Rotate the direction of the stamp every so often. Let some of the images overlap.
Mount the "May Your Day BUBBLE OVER with happiness." sentiment from the Bubble Over Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the watercolor wash making sure to leave room on the right side for the bottle.
Adhere the watercolor washed and stamped white strip to the strip of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock.
Adhere the matted sentiment strips to the Gingham Gala Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the bottom edge.
Adhere the designer paper rectangle to the Gorgeous Grape rectangle and then to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bottle to the right side of the card front so it overlaps the matted sentiment strips.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different sizes of Gorgeous Grape dots from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front in a rough triangle just to the left of the neck of the bottle.
