F un Valentine treat packaging using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" of red and pink diagonal stripes on white background design from From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper
- small scrap (slightly over 3/4" square) of tiny red and pink hearts in rows on white background design from From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper
Unlock the smooth-edged heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the white cardstock strip into the punch and punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Bonanza Buddies Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
For the koala bear tag:
Mount the koala body image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white heart punch out at a slight angle so the legs go off the bottom right side of the heart.
Mount the koala face image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it over the corresponding area of the previously stamped koala image on the white heart punch out.
For the toucan tag:
Mount the toucan image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it at a slight angle onto the heart punch out so the legs and bottom of the tail go off the right edge of the heart.
Mount the solid toucan's bill image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Carefully press the bottom half of the bill image to the edge of the open Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad so you ink up only the bottom half of the bill. Then, carefully press the top half of the bill image to the edge of the open Real Red Ink Pad so you ink up only the top half of the bill. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it inside the beak area of the previously stamped toucan image on the heart punch out.
For the lion tag:
Mount the lion body image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white heart punch out at a slight angle so the bottom of the lion goes off the bottom of the heart slightly to the right side.
Mount the lion's mane and tail hair image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped image on the white heart cut out so the mane surrounds the face and the tail hair is at the end of the tail.
Mount the lion face image from the Bonanza Buddies Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it over the corresponding area of the previously stamped lion image on the white heart punch out.
Unlock the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. Slide the diagonal striped From My Heart Specialty Designer Paper strip into the punch and punch.
Adhere the animal stamped white heart punch out to the center of the diagonal striped designer paper punch out.
Pick out the triangle party hat bottom die from the Bonanza Dies. Put it on top of the scrap of tiny hearts design from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Paper. Run through the tool.
Tip: You probably have enough scrap paper to do this leftover from punching out the designer paper heart in a previous step. Just turn the designer paper over so you see the tiny hearts pattern.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Real Red Marker to carefully outline the edges of the party hat cut out.
Adhere the party hat cut out to the top of the animal's head.
Use the small hole punch to punch a hole through the matted hearts at the top left side of the heart.
Fill a 3" x 9" Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bag with treats.
Cut a 6" piece of Real Red 3/8" Cotton Ribbon or Real Red 3/8" Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Gather the top of the cellophane bag together. Use a half knot to tie the top of the cellophane bag closed. Slide the heart animal tag onto one side of the ribbon. Finish tying the knot to hold the bag closed and the tag in place. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
