Q uick and cute butterfly card using Blackberry Bliss ink and cardstock, this design was copied and slightly edited from a card shared by fellow SU demo Mary Fish. I changed up the sentiments and colors, added a bit 'o bling and there ya go!
Project Recipe
1.Use a folded white notecard as the base. 2.Attach the Blackberry Bliss layer to folded notecard
3.Use 3"x4.5" white piece and cut the butterfly die from it so the butterfly will look a little "tilted" as per photo. Allow room for sentiment in top left corner.
4.Use Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp "you are simply the best!" In upper left corner of white panel.Do this stamping step before cutting and embossing if you aren't sure about placement of the stamping.
5. Remove butterfly cut out from framelit and brush or poke out the extra bits.
6. Run the white panel thru the Subtle emboss folder..it is VERY subtle so I used a thin shim since my Big Shot isn't real tight but don't spritz it with water or the stamped sentiment will bleed. Remember that it's an extra thick "dynamic" folder so use only one cutting plate on the sandwich and run it thru with correct sandwich, send it thru with" hinged end" feeding into machine first.
7.) After embossing the white panel, attach it to the Blackberry Bliss panel and then adhere that piece to the front of the note card. THE Blackberry layer is supposed to show thru.
8. Attach Tearin' Tape or Sticky strip to the back of the diecut butterfly body, no sticky on the wings, just the body.
9. Remove adhesive backing and adhere the butterfly back into the cut out space, since only the body is attached his wings can "flutter" a bit.
10. Use the blackberry tinted Basic rhinestone jewels to accent the butterfly spine (3 should do it..I went ahead and tinted them for you)
11. Stamp desired sentiment on the inside..I used the birthday sentiment from Varied Vases
