F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2-1/8" x 3-7/8" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 2" x 3-7/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the Granny Apple Green rectangle into the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Open the folder and rotate the cardstock 90 degrees. Put the cardstock back in the folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed cardstock to the large Night of Navy rectangle and then to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Better Together Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the white rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Bike Ride Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline dog image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp the dog in the lower right corner of the white rectangle.
Mount the solid dog inside pieces image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. Then, WITHOUT re-inking, stamp the image inside the dog outline image.
Mount the dog's neckerchief image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the neckerchief area on the dog image.
Mount the apples outline image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the left of the dog image.
Mount the apples inside pieces image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the outline apples image. If desired, ink up only the top portion of the apples inside pieces image again using the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad and stamp it again over the top of the previous image to make part of the apples a little darker.
Mount the inside apple leaves pieces image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the leaves outline on the apples.
Place the stamped white cardstock on top of some Grid Paper to protect the work surface since the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Scribble a bit of Smoky Slate Light Stampin' Blends beneath the apples and dog to create shadows.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to soften the edges of the shadows and make them a bit lighter.
Adhere the stamped and colored white cardstock the the smaller Night of Navy rectangle.
Cut a 3" piece of Night of Navy 1/2" Gingham Ribbon so both ends are angled.
Fold the ribbon in half. Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the back of the matted white layer so it will poke up on the right side when the cardstock is right side up. Leave the protective backing on the Tear & Tape in place for now.
Lay the matted cardstock with the ribbon attached on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke a hole through the cardstock and ribbon layers so the hole is centered about 1/4" below the ribbon.
Pick out a Metallic Brad and insert it in the hole.
Flip the cardstock over and bend the prongs of the brad flat.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape and add some SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere the cardstock to the bottom of the card front about 3/4" up from the bottom.
