Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-3/4" square from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 7" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Bee My Valentine Set, place the cardstock or gift box on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Place a box from the Square Pillow Gift Boxes on the Stampin' Mat.
Mount the small flower image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the box. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Mount the small, single heart image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the box. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Make sure that the hearts on the back panel of the box are right side up.
Fold the stamped box on all score lines. Carefully remove the protective backings on the side pieces and adhere the box together.
Fill the box with treats.
Tip: I put the M&Ms in a sandwich bag so they wouldn't spill out everywhere when the box is opened.
Fold the tops of the box closed.
Cut a piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon long enough to wrap around the box and tie closed with a knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a circle that is 2-1/2" diameter from the Deckled Circles Dies. Put it on top of the Daffodil Delight square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the honeycomb image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the circle cut out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the circle. Don't worry about stamping the center of the circle as it will be covered by the bee.
Mount the bee stripes and stinger image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the larger horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Mount the solid oval bee body image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped stripes and stinger so the edges all line up.
Unlock the Bee Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped bee body image into the punch and get it centered in the bee body punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked. Keep ALL the pieces.
Mount the outlined wings image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again on the white strip again leaving room to punch it out.
Slide one of the stamped wings into the unlocked Bee Builder Punch holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the wings centered in the large heart (wings) punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other set of wings. Keep ALL the pieces. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the bee antennae image of choice from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remainder of the large white strip.
Slide the stamped antennae into the unlocked Bee Builder Punch holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the antennae centered in the small heart punching area. Punch.
Mount the bee face image of choice from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the bee body punch out so it is centered in the yellow area with the yellow area on top of the vertical bee body.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the wings and antennae hearts to the back of the body punch out as shown.
Adhere the assembled bee to the top of the honeycomb circle cut out in the center.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the short, thin white strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat on the other end.
Mount the "you're as sweet as honey" sentiment from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block H. Ink up only the words "sweet as" using the side of the brush tip of the Sweet Sorbet Marker. Ink up only the word "honey" using the side of the brush tip of the Crushed Curry Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the small punched strip.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip to the bottom of the honeycomb circle cut out as shown so it is centered side to side and the bee's stinger overlaps the top of the strip a bit just above the word "as".
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the circle cut out to adhere it to the front of the box as shown.
