G reat masculine card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of mottled light brown map with brass roads and words design from World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the design is vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Adhere the piece of World Of Good Designer Paper to the front of the Cinnamon Cider card.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-1/4" x 3-5/8" from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the Cinnamon Cider rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Tip: You may have to press fairly firmly along the edges of the die to pop the cut out loose.
Mount the globe base image from the Beautiful World Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it about 1/2" from the bottom of one of the Very Vanilla rectangles so it is centered side to side.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-13/16" x 3-3/16" from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped vanilla rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the globe base is centered side to side and about 1/4" from the bottom. Run through the tool. Leave the die out.
Tip: You may have to press fairly firmly along the edges of the die to pop the cut out loose.
Adhere the globe base vanilla rectangle cut out to the center of the Cinnamon Cider rectangle cut out.
Adhere the matted globe base rectangle cut out to the front of the card so the top edge is about 5/8" from the top of the card and the left edge is about 3/8" from the left side of the card.
Mount the globe image of your choice from the Beautiful World Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake square.
Pick out the open circle die from the World Map Dies. Put it on top of the globe image square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Mount the "You make the world a better place" sentiment from the Beautiful World Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top of the remaining vanilla rectangle so it is centered side to side.
Place the stitched rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-13/16" x 3-3/16" on top of the sentiment stamped vanilla rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered side to side and is as close to the top as possible. Run through the tool. Leave the die out.
Tip: You may have to press fairly firmly along the edges of the die to pop the cut out loose.
Put the sentiment rectangle cut out back on the platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Place the stitched rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-13/16" x 3-3/16" back on top of the sentiment stamped vanilla rectangle cut out so the stitched edges on the sides of the die line up with the stitched edges on the cut out sides and there is about 1/2" of unstamped vanilla rectangle showing below the sentiment (the top of the die will be off the top edge of the sentiment cut out). Run through the tool.
Tip: You may have to press fairly firmly along the edges of the die to pop the cut out loose.
Place the globe cut out and the sentiment cut out on top of some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a quarter piece of Stamping Sponge across the open Crumb Cake Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly pounce it up and down onto the globe cut out and sentiment rectangle cut out to add some light mottling. Get more ink on the sponge piece as needed.
Tip: Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters using scissors. This will give you more pieces of sponge to work with and will give you more control as the pieces are smaller and easier to hold.
Tip: I just clean my sponge pieces when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the mottled globe cut out to the front of the card so it appears to be resting on top of the stamped globe stand on the vanilla rectangle.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Pick out a ribbon slide from the Antiqued Corners & Slides.
Feed the ribbon through the ribbon slide so the side of the slide that you want facing up is up. Position the slide near the center of the ribbon.
Use a Mini Glue Dot behind the slide to adhere the slide with ribbon threaded through it to the bottom of the mottled sentiment rectangle cut out so the slide is centered under the sentiment.
Flip the sentiment cut out over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the sentiment rectangle cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right side of the matted globe rectangle and the right edge of the sentiment cut out is about 3/8" from the right edge of the card and the bottom edge of the sentiment cut out is about 5/8" from the bottom of the card.
Pick out a corner from the Antiqued Corners & Slides. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the corner in place to the upper left corner of the globe vanilla rectangle.
