P retty card using a fun technique for coloring detailed die cuts and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Mango Melody Cardstock
Lightly spray the Soft Sea Foam rectangle with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the damp Soft Sea Foam rectangle into the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Whisper White rectangle in the center. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Whisper White on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (white facing up).
Pick out the large, more open grouping of five butterflies thinlit from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. Place it on top of the Whisper White Cardstock piece on the Big Shot so you'll cut out the large butterfly and the two butterflies above it. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Tip: Be careful NOT to let the backing on the adhesive sheet on the back of the cut out peel up yet. If the backing does peel up, put the cut out on a Silicone Craft Sheet or piece of wax paper for the next step.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beautiful Bouquet Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Place a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the carnation flower image from the Beautiful Bouquet Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the white butterflies cut out, remembering to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave some areas white. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block for the next step.
Ink up the carnation image stamp with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the butterflies cut out, remembering to re-ink the stamp each time. Fill in the white spaces and let it overlap the Mango Melody stamping. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Use Paper Snips to cut off any excess cardstock along the bottom of the big butterfly.
Pick out the large, more detailed grouping of five butterflies thinlit from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. Place the 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" Mango Melody rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the large, more detailed grouping of five butterflies thinlit on top so you will cut out the large butterfly and the two butterflies above it. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the more open, colored butterflies cut out. Adhere it over the Mango Melody butterflies cut out so everything is lined up.
If the dry embossed Soft Sea Foam rectangle is dry, then adhere the layered butterflies cut outs to the top of the layer using either Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Part Of My Story or Beautiful Bouquet Set on Block B. Make sure the sentiment you choose will fit on Block B or it won't fit in the punching area in the next step. Ink up the sentiment with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the strip of Mango Melody Cardstock near one side just make sure you leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the Pretty Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the small, double punch from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, carefully slide one end of the sentiment punch out into the punch so ONLY the circle punching area is over the end of the sentiment punch out and is centered side to side. Punch. Repeat with the other side of the sentiment punch out.
Cut a 5" piece of the Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Feed the ribbon through the holes in the ends of the sentiment punch out.
Put some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment punch out above and below the ribbon. Remove the protective backings and adhere the sentiment punch out to the lower left corner of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle so it overlaps the bottom left of the large butterfly just a bit.
Flip the Soft Sea Foam rectangle over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Berry Burst card.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front just to the right side of the sentiment punch out. Tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 Rich Razzleberry pearls from a sheet of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them above and below the sentiment on the sentiment punch out.
